It will be the starter motor, common problem on your model. |

The thread will probably be moved to L322 general or maintenance, but anyway, when my 2012 WM starter clicked and would not start intermittently it was cured by replacing the starter motor. It seems a very common fault. The brake light switch wasn't mentioned, and as it does not click it might be less likely to be the problem. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Another vote here for the starter motor. Our 2012 car is on it's third.

Thanks David, I’ve been checking out starter removal on YouTube and some are removing a piece of exhaust and others heat shields and having issues reaching the top securing bolt……..is it really an easy replacement with just the bottom cover removed ? I do have access to a ramp. I really appreciate your help thanks, Burkie |

Yes it’s relatively straight forward. If you’ve access to a ramp even better. Bit of a squeeze getting it out. I followed the you tube video and did it on axle stands. Spent about three hours including cuppas and rewatching bits of video!

We've got a ramp in our workshop too and all we removed was the under tray. It's a squeeze and it does need to be manipulated but it will come out of the gaps in the subframe.
