Does it have to be over 17.5 g, same as auto regen. ??

I started the regen at 16g.

Pat tells me it will work even on a Red DPF Full warning light, although I haven't tested that.
It will be good to confirm that works - if so it's the full solution.

Hi All
New to FFRR ownership, owned the car for a year and absolutely love it - wished I had taken the plunge earlier.

HOWEVER, yesterday the amber 'DPF Full' warning appeared on the dash and having Googled it, and read every page of this thread, I'm now worried. I have done many 2-4 mile under 30 MPH school runs over the year, very few long trips. A thirty minute 50MPH run last night has not cleared the warning light.

I'm never going to start working down the list of faults to fix myself, its just not my thing, so here are the questions -
- Main dealer or independent specialist? Before you answer, I'm 4 hours north of Glasgow, 70 miles from the dealer in Inverness.
- Our local garage is very good, has diagnostic tools and lots of general knowledge, should I let them loose on the car?

I'm happy to travel a long way (everything is a long way) to get to the right person/business to get this fixed......

I would be inclined to take it for another long run as that may not have been long enough to burn the soot level to below the amber light trigger point. Ideally if you have a nice long stretch where you can set the cruise to 55MPH that would be a good option. 30 minutes at this speed and with the coolant up to temp might be enough to finish off the soot burn to turn off the amber warning. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE

I've had my car for over 18 months now and had never seen the amber light until last weekend when I was towing the caravan. After 7 minutes the light went out and has not returned. As suggested, go for a longer run.

Also remember that you have to keep the fuel tank over the quarter full Mark., but as others have said, it can take quite a time to trigger a regen.

Firstly don't worry, this issue is very likely not to be a big deal.
I agree with dennij and kevinp, Give it another, longer run at speed. Dont drop below 38mph. It will either clear or go red. 30 mins might not have quite cleared it. If it does go red not a big deal either, I drove mine for 20 miles on a Red once.
I would definitely go for a Range Rover specialist either MD or independent - they know what to look for.

For your calibration, if I were only to do the school run (3 miles) I would get a yellow once a month.
The easiest way to avoid this is to have one's wife take them every day in her Golf.

If it doesn't clear or goes red then make sure the Indy or MD to check MAF, MAP, then high pressure smoke test.

Curious, when this happens does it clean it out completely or just enough to take the warning off?
