On the black tube at the back that runs top to bottom, there are two small horizontal holes in the plastic cube at the top - one points in towards the oil reservoir, one points outwards. The air pumps out of those, covering them with a couple of fingers makes it impossible to push the pump handle downards.

Mine is brand new, never used and I concur it does the same with fingers over both holes Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

The ones in the silver nut I would say - that's plastic on mine. In this photo, I've shoved a carb cleaning brush into the hole.

Any reason 3k oil changes? Seems pretty frequent

Hi
First off, a great forum! Ordered the draper vacuum pump yesterday! Didn't think my 2012 V8 DIESEL had a pipe I could use but after a second look having rear your posting it was discovered near the filler tube.

Thanks for your help all.

Dave

Hi Mike

Certainly keeping the old grey cells working for this OAP! Might need some help setting the draper pump up when it comes. I can appreciate the idea of pulling the oil out by suction with the hand lever but wonder about the compressor element use. The method of syphoning also comes to mind but that depends on levels being right.

Either way a look underneath at the weekend was not what I was expecting, so keen do do it using the pump. DIY means getting the right oil and filter etc.

Regards
Dave

It’s like a bayonet light bulb fitting , 1/4 turn then it just pulls off with a good tug.

It had me fooled also with pulling rather than unwinding.

Cheers Nino,
I will recheck the level tomorrow.
I put 8.5 litre in.
At 8 litre it was showing half full, but it was cold new oil at that time.

Just lit the bbq to make up for my lost lunch.
Stan,
You would be blown away with the beauty of sunny Saddleworth, 😁😁
