Interesting. Anybody attempt to use the window aerial for a DAB installation?

And you are certain the later models didn't change the design of the window aerial? Are there any available web-sites where one can find part numbers for certain model years?

It would seem strange that they didn't as the different wave lenghts of the DAB-signal usually requires different antenna properties than the old FM signal.

unless you want to splice into the existing antennas then i wouldnt worry to much and just use the ariel supplied with your aftermarket dab receiver..

Has anybody tried this, and is it a straight swap with CPLA-14F720-BM?

I currently have DAB, but would like DAB+ as one of that stations I'd like to listen to is only broadcast on DAB+

Thanks Stan.
I did see and read that, just wondered if anyone else had done it.

Next problem is. Having looked in the RHS electronics bay, I cant actually figure out what unit is what. The workshop manual isn't much help either.

I guess this is going to be a project for a rainy day Smile

Module arrived today (CPLA-14F720-BP) and I've encountered the first problem; the power connector is different.

On the old (Focom) module its a two pin connector on the new its a four pin connector!

Anyone have a diagram of the old and new, in the hope that I can rig something up.

Many thanks

Just as a heads up to anybody following this thread. I couldn't get this to work.

Got power and all other connections to the unit, even though DAB appeared on the centre screen menu, I was unable to select it..

I also looked through the CCF for any changes that may be required. I tried DAB and DAB (PTY) for EU, neither of which had any effect.

It could be Stan, but I was led to believe that the last two characters are only the software level, and should've worked in my car.

Having done even more research, I'm not sure this can be done in a 2012. Chief64's profile shows a 2010 model and cambo@oldjaguar states "There's no factory DAB+ module that's compatible with the audio system in the 2010-2012 L322, the factory modules are only DAB, not DAB+, so they don't work here."

I'll lurk around a bit before returning the unit, in the hope that someone has had some success with this.

As always, thanks for your help and the continued maintenance of a brilliant site.

Chief64

Many thanks for the reply, you've given me the confidence to have another go at this. I have sourced the exact same part number that you used (CPLA-14F720-BM), so will give it another go.

Can I ask a couple of questions: -
Did you have to change the power plug to the "green" type?
Did you have to make changes in the CCF?

Many Thanks
John

Hi John, did you manage to get the DAB+ module working? Looking to try and do the upgrade next weekend as my favourite station has now become DAB+.
