Thinking on this - if removing the bottom hose kind of relieves the issue for a short while, I wonder if there's something in the intercooler and removing the pipe is allowing any pressure to drop and the blockage move (although quite what could in the intercooler apart from oil I'm not sure!) Land Rover Addict

Are you using the old hose clips or new ones. It might be that the clips are defective (even if new) in that, when you reinstall, they are tightening up correctly but after a short run they are slackening off even slightly.

It might be an explanation for the way it is reacting. John

DMRR, I think its the top hose that is being removed and replaced. He also put a new genuine LR hose on at first.
Marianna, for the next few days everytime the symptoms appear remove that hose and if it cures the issue I think the only thing to do is romove the throttle bodies and manifolds and thoroughly clean them out. Its looking more and more likely that you've been unlucky and bits of the old hose are stuck somewhere.
Another check to make is the firmness of the hoses immediatly afrer switching off the engine. Compare the two top hoses. I suspect the hose with issue will be firmer indicating a blockage. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

Its the upper n/s intercooler to inlet manifold hose im talking about.

I replaced the split one with a new genuine LR hose shortly after the split happened.

I noticed the drive ability concerns straight away and it was suggested on an RR facebook page that I fit silicone hoses which I did less than 2 weeks later.

The split was about 2 - 3 inches long and very clean, there wasn't really any hose material lost. A picture might explain this better.

I will repeat the procedure each time the car starts to drive poorly and see how I get on.

I wonder if a terraclean would be of benefit?

Are you leaving the plastic top engine cover off?

It may be interfering with the MAP sensor wiring in some way. I think you’ve mentioned that you’ve also had success (although short lived) after cleaning the MAPs.

Another post here mentions a similar issue was caused by loose wiring. The engine cover maybe causing this, rather than you removing the hose and refitting it, if you get me drift.

ok, the split is typical. Usually under the webbing sleeve.
What is puzzling is removing the hose gives a temporary cure. As if relieving pressure is allowing something the fall clear.
A terraclean may be worth doing after the problem is found. I would, at this stage, strip it down and closely inspect parts. You could otherwise be chasing it on and on.

Have you taken the bottom hoses off yet?

Just to be clear here on diagnostics - are you using IID (or equiv), or just an OBDII reader?

Right, back to it.

So I can confirm now with certainty that removing the hose shown in this crudely edited picture and reinstalling it makes the car drive nicely for a short while.

It was this hose that split originally, was then replaced with the LR hose and eventually the silicone pictured etc.

I have scoured the area and nothing seems broken/unplugged/amiss.

Obviously something must occur when i pull the hose and reinstall. I am going to feed my boroscope camera into the inlet manifold tomorrow evening to have a look.
