On a trip round the M25 this morning in my 2009 TDV8 when “engine system fault” comes up on the screen and it goes into limp mode, not good when in lane 4 on a busy morning! Managed to pull off without getting flattened by HGV’s, engine was ticking over fine, turned off and waited a few minutes then carried on and all seemed okay....until a little while later exactly the same thing happened so managed to get to an emergency bay on the Non Hard Shoulder section and waited to be recovered as I didn’t fancy liming along on the M25!!! No lights appeared, just the message, recovery guy said probably EGRs? How will I know and what’s the best course of action to sort it?

As a first step check the intercooler hoses. Remove the engine cover (just pulls off) and you will see the top ones. Inspect them carefully for splits. John

Just do it, I had new turbos last year and still running a higher bhp than most have done and blanked egr 8 months ago, there’s opinions everywhere but I know I’m happy and the sluggish standard ones I’ve been in are a bit different and not for me 😉 _____________________________________________________

Is your FFRR a model after 2006? Did you have to re-map or do any programming? Can you tell me what kit you used? Sorry for the quick fire questions 2006 L322 3.6 TDV8 Dogs in the back, Kids in the middle, Horses in a box at the rear. I know which makes more mess. |

I’ve just ordered the delete kit. Is there any way of turning off the software using IID or is it definitely a remap?

Your can use the IID to apply a BAS EGR delete patch but you the IID itself has no capability in respect of blanking EGRs. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate
