Auxillary belt and Pulley replacement - MY12 TDV8

Hi
With the recent rain facilitating, my auxiliary belt has come off, MY12 TDV8 and with the 80k+ on the clock was taking a view while going to the trouble of replacing the belts (Fan, cowling, under trays, poss aircon pipes +++) I might as well look at changing the numerous pulleys.
Does this sound sensible & driveway do-able?

I've just had mine replaced by an independent specialist. Mine was making a squeaking noise when started from cold. Initially I was just thinking of replacing the tensioner but I was advised that it would make sense to replace the belt & all pulleys at the same time. I understand there is quite a lot to strip off so seemed sensible given I'm planning on keeping her. I think he charged 3 or 4 hours labour & I understand it is time consuming rather than difficult so should be doable on the drive. Mines just turned 86k miles. Good luck.

Thanks, DrRob & Philip, had an on & off squeak last 6 months + a rattle, looking to replace 2 belts and 5 pulleys!
LR024791 - Fan Pulley
LR025083 - 80mm idler
LR022953 - 65mm Idler
LR022809 - Tensioner Pulley
LR025988 - Pulley
LR022803 - Belt
LR022804 - Belt
All ordered for the weekend £311 all in,
So apart from the usual bag of spanners, before I roll my sleeves & up is there anything you think I may have missed or should replace while the fan etc are out the way? (apart from a new set of knuckles)

Hi, that's the 7 parts they've used on mine so you should have all you need other than antifreeze. I think it is easy to break the plastic tee piece coolant pipe on the top hose so be careful with that & good luck. Weather forecast for the weekend is good Smile

Be aware the tensioner is pretty easy so is the nearby idler....

Getting the belt off and getting to the other pulleys 🤷‍♂️ Not so much..... Whistle There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Quick update...Parts have just arrived, didn’t make it for the weekend (couple of working days to get the LR parts in) So just spent time making some access. Also cleaning the throttle body, shamefully full of gunk.

There is a bit of space from the top where it looks like I can get access from the top to fit 3 of the pulley’s Just need a bit of daylight to start. The 9-5 day job not helping!

Access from below looking a bit more limited at the moment, does anyone know what this is? Thought maybe oil cooler but not really ribbed enough. I do have the Webasto heater but no idea if this is part of it either.
Hopefully should be able to drop a couple of bolts either side and support suspended but leave connected to give a bit of room, just not keen to undo and have another system to try and refill.

Yep as above G.box cooler. Don’t take the hoses off, but it should be poss to unbolt and push to one side👍🏻 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks Nimo & Northernmonkey, oil cooler unbolted last night, bit more room for knuckles now!!
Now to the fan shroud later, & the left hand side pulleys. Don't suppose anyone has anything about the fan & shroud removal. Looks to have a lot of bolts along all sides & a couple of electrical connectors, hoping just a case of undoing these these and easing it up & out with the fan. Confused

Plato69, I did same thing 2~3 months ago and it is very fiddly job, I am not very good on posting PDF files so if You ask Baltic Blue (Mike) to post PDF for cooling fan removal it will greatly help You to do the job. if You are doing it on a driveway You may consider some sort of ramps, I use this home made.
