Hi all, I'm new to the community, just read this post front to back this evening and got completely engrossed in it. I have this problem going on at the moment, leaking down the back of the engine, burning oil smell, smoke arising now and again(usually when I've given it some beans)! i now will be doing the repair myself, basically because of the brilliant info that I've read on this forum tonight. its probably old news for you guys but new for me, so wish me luck and thanks for the guidance. |

@hermano - the cooler having failed is normally shown by oil in the water of the cooling system rather than a leak which is usually gaskets. So I wouldn't be too worried about ordering up a cooler unless you have symptoms that lead you to believe it has failed

Hi , do you know if this oil leak problem is the same on a 3.6 V8 as my oil leak appears to be coming from the area you are explaining.

No its not Tractor Man BUT, the oil filter housing is there and the rubber ring/seal should be changed EVERY service as the heat makes them go hard and flat...
