Don't they do a light mounting bar that sticks out through the front grille?

Edit:

Yep, Driving Light Mounting Brackets.

Thanks Fox,

I was aware you can mount to Bumper having had LR driving lights fitted on my Discovery 3 Metropolis LE but I am after a different look with the lights bolted to a raised bar or similar...(hard to describe)

I guess I have no choice but to go down the traditional route though Thumbs Up

I think I know what you mean.

There is an aftermarket bar for the Defender, that pokes out through the grille and you can mount a pair of spots on that.

But I've not seen anything similar yet for the Disco 3/4.

Something liek this:

Yes it was defender style Spot lights that I was after Thumbs Up

Just had a look and the D3 Bumper appears to be strengthened on the underside and looks as if you could drill directly through it to attach Hella/Wipac 8" Defender style side by side driving lamps with a a bit of plate on either side......

PS Apparently the LR Spot Light attachment kit works with other Lamp Models so I will go down this route and fit 8" side by side lamps.

I fitted the front lamp guards today (Britpart) and was surprised at how easy it is to dismantle Land Rover parts if you have good instructions and the right tools.

Within Minutes I had the front grill removed quickly followed by both Headlamp Units after using WD40 on the sliders and disconnecting the wiring looms.

Next you have to insert plastic grommets that take the screw bolts holding the guard brackets intp pre-formed square holes in the bonnet frame and this proved to be the most difficult job as the plastic was cold and hard and the pre-formed holes where filled with paint and basically too small for the grommets!

After a little filing of the grommets and clearing of the excess paint I had them in and was able to reassemble the light units and grill and bolt on the guards within minutes.

All told about 25 minutes to do both sides and the look was very aggressive especially as the black guards match the black car.

Tomorrow I will fit the rear lamp guards (this involves drilling into bodywork) and will post a few pictures of the front & back end result Thumbs Up
