All done, wiped clean and seems to be sorted as it was covered in oil. Can't see anything else. Excellent info and pics from all. Thank you . Thumbs Up

I've spotted a distinct difference between the pipes shown in diagrams/pictures and my April 12 build's pipe in that mine has a join between the flexible section and the rest of pipe that continues to the turbos. I can't currently loosen the bolt but once I have an appropriate tool, the end section of the pipe will be removed to allow the o-rings to be fitted whilst away from the back of the engine.

Some measurements from mine's later version 2-piece pipe:

Spigot dia 11.90mm - hole could well be BS611 spec of 12.0mm
O-ring groove dia 9.60mm - more than BS611 specs of 9.0mm
Old o-ring width 8.60mm. If anything, it would be wider than originally due to having been squashed.
New o-ring width 8.70mm - not quite BS611 specs of 8.78mm
Old o-ring on fitting 12.1mm
New o-ring on fitting 12.5mm

The seals provided good resistance when refitting with the new o-rings. I'm sure that BS611 is a good size but possibly has slightly greater section width than the original. The originals weren't hard, instead somewhat soft compared with the new Viton seals.

Its at the top end of what was originally a single pipe. I suspect the 2-section pipe was developed so that it could be guaranteed that the fitting into the block could be under no stress. I rejoined mine after tightening the spigot in the block.

The picture posted early in this thread of the new pipe is still of the old pipe. I suspect that old stock was sold under the new part number because the join clearly is not shown in that picture.

My 2012 TDV8 is currently at Duckworth's in Market Rasen having a new oil cooler, alternator & n/s rear light cluster. I've been smelling hot oil for almost a year, last Sunday afternoon smoke started coming from under the bonnet. Note to self in future check for this stuff on Full Fat! --RiDDO

Take a good look at this hose joint whilst you have the bonnet up.
Mine started to weep at the weekend.
Their is a very good cheap fix in a post on here somewhere, but sorry can’t just find it to link to at the moment.
