Iidtool key programming

Good Afternoon,

I have just bought a flip key with transponder built in. I have had the blade cut and have
Programmed it to lock and unlock so the next stage is to programme the transponder.

My gap tool does this but you need to turn the new key to position one and for some reason
It will not turn in the lock to disengage the steering lock. Could this be a badly cut key or I thought
It was the chip inside the key which cancels the steering lock?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Steve

No, if you put in the old key you hear it disengage the steering lock but the new one
Doesnโ€™t make any noise. The new key will open and close the drivers door but maybe the ignition
Is more sensitive?

Thanks

the car isn't recognising the new key then ( obviously ) there must be a way of opening comms to allow for the the pairing of new keys though

Have you tried putting the new key into the ignition then putting the coded key as close as you can to the ignition to trick the ignition into turning off the steering lock, then turn the uncoded key, then remove the coded key are voila your ignition is on and your uncoded key is in the ignition Thumbs Up ready for IID to code it Thumbs Up

I have a 2017 BT iidtool from Dan. The coding part is easy it's just that you need to turn the key and I don't know
If that's a key cutting problem or the transponder that unlocks the steering column. If that's the case then it's abit chicken and egg if you need a valid transponder to unlock the column to programme the key.

I have tried having both keys together Craig but it didn't unlock, but maybe I need to try it a few more times ๐Ÿ‘
Might get lucky.

I have also ordered a new key blade as it looks like the key cutter has cut it too deep as there is a pin prick hole
In it but it still opens the door? Maybe the transmission lock is more sensitive. I will get the blade recut anyway
To rule that out.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys I will crack it soon ๐Ÿ˜„

Cheers guys

For push button start its incredibly easy. Takes about 30 seconds from start to finish with my IID tool. I programmed a new shape ( smaller ) key. The original key isnt even used. I now have a spare at home and in the office. Proberbly lose the one im using when im out now !!!! 2015 4.4 AB
