Does anybody have some ideas about how much it should cost for a turbo drain drilling on a 4.4TD?

do you actually need the modification Dave...if yours doesn't produce smoke on hard acceleration (over 2500 rpm) then you don't need the mod.. ... - .- -.

Did they check the 4 short rubber hoses on the manifold?

Yeah, they checked that - they confirmed that the it was uneven airflow and under investigation confirmed that the valve wasn't opening, and that itself was swollen with oil.

Someone on here was charged £1,000 by an indi for the mod., but I think it was North Yorks, so quite a trip. G reg 2.5VM Vogue Portofino red 1991- 1999

Generally, a correlation fault is caused by a Boost leak... I'd be inclined to have the inlet system smoke tested to detect any leaks |

The technical bulletin quotes 1.1 hour labour to replace the CSOV. Not a difficult job.

I was told the drain mod was "an eight hour job". My turbo was checked today and the leak had apparently not got worse, so it will just be monitored. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

My csov valve has stuck and is being replaced under a warranty direct warranty.
