Just referring to the cost of components, when one of my inlet hoses split giving my restricted performance, it cost just over £100 for the four rubbers and new jubilee clips... Shocked

So £400 for the whole sheebang and labour is very good!

Just for the future, if any of the intake pipes split again I will not be visiting L/R as it is just normal automotive hose which you would find on any intake or intercooler. If you wanted to splash the cash a bit even some good quality silicon hose like Samco for example would still be cheaper. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

Has anyone got a link to Samco/similar hoses for the air intake manifold for the 4.4 tdv8 (2011)?

I know this thread is 3 yrs old but a replacement inlet manifold (one side only) has been quoted at a LR specialist (non LR Main dealer) at£1600 all in. 😳😱😢

The injector leads (or something around there) have to be replaced as they are one use only.

Quick and clean result. Can I ask the experts if there is anywhere on these inlet hoses that is more likely to split? I'm about to do the oil cooler and back O rings so will have a good look at the manifold etc while cleaning it all up. Thanks.

They tend to split around the edges of the clips.
A gentle wipe over with a clean white tissue or kitchen roll will usually show tell tale signs of leaking soot oil residue.

Not going to start a new thread as this one is still likely to be relevant.

Car had dpf clean a few weeks ago and has been driving 100%, regenning fine etc. Was on motorway and suddenly went into restricted performance (RP) and even clearing with IID tool kept popping back into RP. No faults came up, just red RP sign. Interestingly on normal roads it is mostly fine, even when revving up to 2500 revs, although it went into RP occasionally.

Have looked at the engine. There is some black liquid on the inlet manifold and the black pipes on the right hand (pax) side if the engine. Can anyone identify what they are please? And the silver small cooler on the far right? Car is booked into LR on Monday but I seem to have as good knowledge as them at the moment Shocked

I can't thank Maltings Off Road enough!!! It was my first experience with them and they really couldn't have done more to keep me happy. Chuffed to bits.
Bow down

Can some clever soul put an arrow on this picture as to where the manifold usually splits please?

Dolphin - looks like you still have the 4 Censored original inlet hoses on your motor. Swap them out for new upgraded silicone hoses. Lots of info on here how to Thumbs Up
They should look like the ones in GGDR photo and this

Whenever people have talked about splits in the plenum it has always been the welded seam that has failed.
Presumably that could be anywhere around the joint.

@dr rob - had a hi pressure smoke test and they are fine apparently but yes I will get them changed at some point

@kevinp.

As I understand it, they tend to crack around the red area (ignore the green arrow). There is plenty on the jag and disco tdv6 forums about cracking (the manifold Is plastic apparently)! Shocked

@kevinp

The seam that is most likely is here (green arrow) although mine is apparently between and under the two pipes (red arrow)
