Got it back yesterday. New exhaust temp sensor and new valve in the turbo system, not got full details yet.

All labour and 85% of parts covered by LR warranty. It would appear that the insurance company that runs the warranty expects the dealer to pass on the parts discount they receive. Not a problem this time but could be if expensive parts required.

Hi all,

Well got a problem now! I revved the nuts off the FF this morning to clear my DPF FULL fault and it worked. Plugged in the IID and read faults and nothing so was happy. All good when I started it tonight to come home, had done about 12 miles easy going and bang I get a RED REDUCED PERFORMANCE!!

I pull over read the faults and nothing so clear it and go on as normal. About 5 miles from home get it again but nurse it home. Instantly read faults and nothing!

Can someone shed any light on this for me as I really need her this week for work as wife away with other car.

Any help advice or tips greatly appreciated. I don't understand why I'm getting reduced performance with no faults showing!

thats strange, as you had the DPF warning you might assume that its related.

either that you you broke something.......

you would expect a fault with the reduced performance though. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I think that you can rule out the air change -over valve sticking because that definitely brought up a clear fault code and the fact that you were able to rev it beyond 2,500 RPM without getting the "reduced performance " warning.
Mine tripped into red- perfect as soon as I hit 2500 rpm. When it was stuck.

Have you checked the plastic inlet manifold for cracks? That might not raise a fault code other than red.perf.?

Yes I know! Nothing on a fault scan with the IID!

As you say I would expect something that threw a red reduced performance up to record a fault!

I'll need to start taking the old girl apart and checking things, but it'll have to wait to the weekend as it's far too hot under the bonnet after I get home, I don't really want to start pulling it apart on an evening either when I need it for work. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

No I haven't had more than a quick visual check and feel. As I said it was all so hot when I opened the bonnet when I got home. I'll have to nurse it all week and strip the manifold off for starters and check for cracks in it and the four rubbers too.

I'll have a look at the MAF sensor and throttle butterfly while I'm in there. Just hope it's something I can deal with!

I've done god knows how many miles in L/R vehicles in my life time from series3 upwards and I can honestly say that the 4.4 is already the most problematic L/R I have ever owned!! Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

There's a setting on the IIDtool which when not set doesn't show some faults. I can't remember the setting but my tool with original settings wouldn't show faults that my Faultmate showed existed.

Just an update, I have been doing ping pong emails with Patrick @ GAP over the last couple of days. Thanks to his fabulous IID tool and his knowledge I now have the tool set up as he recommended and it is at last picking up the fault for my restricted performance issue and it looks like it will be an air leak on the inlet after all. Be ripping the FF to bits tomorrow and trying to find the culprit. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

the "new" rubbers look like just ordinary automotive type rubber pipe. so why not go to automotive store and bay 12~14" of pipe and cut to size, reuse Jubly clips and get new EGR gasket. cost ~15 Pounds?
