The button configuration looks the same so I'd imagine the chipset inside is the same too.

Whilst I recognise the 2010 key is a bit big and heavy, it at least has presence, and you know if it's not there, whereas I've always thought the newer one looks cheaper and plastic compared. Discovery 4 HSE

I have changed one of the large one's over to a new (big) case, I can confirm its really is a case of taking your time and being brave - the small one does look smaller and that's a good thing so I will watch this thread with interest but as I still have a spare (big) key case at home unused at the mo I will prob not initiate.

a quick browse yesterday came up with around £10 upwards but i dont think they were genuine ones though.. ... - .- -.

I might buy some used keys and do one to test it. I already do a 3 button fob refurb service so this could add an additional service.
