I think they all go like that sooner or later. Both mine certainly did. I managed to get them to an acceptable standard by very careful and sparing use of cyanoacrylate-based superglue. Only glued my fingers about half a dozen times You have to be very careful not to glue the bits that you want to be able to move, for example, to change the battery.

Recently did both of mine with refurb kits from Dan , just have to be brave for prising them apart. The new cases are textured plastic so shouldn't be as crappy as the originals |

as stan said the covers are cheap for LR genuine and they take about 10 mins to swap over. Its really easy I've done mine a few times as my disco key gets battered on site every day, being thrown from pillar to post so tools can be retrieved.

Thanks gents. Will prob replace with the same then. I think my spare, that now doesn't seem to be coded to the car, - but that's another issue - is in better condition so I might swap the innards with that.

Seems to be in reverse order for some reason, but follow the pics, few bits to take of the old case such as springs and seals etc but its easy peasy.

Well I read this thread with interest and it slowly dawned on me that I had never pressed one of the buttons (lights) so tonight I pressed it - I know reckless is my middle name - and the follow me home lights came on.

sorry Geoff, hadn't noticed you had put up some pics of pretty much the same thing a couple of pages ago! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
