If I worried about it that much I wouldn't have bought one in the first place.
I just fill it up and enjoy it.
Life is too short.

I knew what it was before I bought it and if I was anyway bothered I would not have bought it.I did however get from home in Yorkshire to the south coast at a steady 65 and returned 25mpg in the 4.4 petrol. If anyone is bothered by mpg I suggest googling 'hypermiling',it gives you alsorts of ideas you would not think of,even how to park in a supermarket !

Not bad from 4.4 V8 petrol

That's great. I get about 13.5 on a run, 19-20 around home. Our fuel is worse and I'm at 9000 ft asl with 32" MT tires. 2004 L322 V8
