Decided to stretch her legs from Cardiff down to Port Lympne near Hythe. Stopped for breakfast around Swindon and then cracked on. Here’s a download from the LR App.

I suggest the only real way to find overall mpg over a period of time rather than individual journeys is to use an App such as Road Trip SE (Lite). It requires inputting the mileage and litres every time you fill up to get the mpg data. it's surprisingly different to what the car indicates. -----------------------------------------------

On my recent trip up into Scotland in my TDV8 4.4 between Manchester and Glasgow (all motorway) I averaged 40 mpg.

Deduct 7-10% from the mpg readout to get the real figure but it's still impressive for the engine size and shape of the car which unsurprisingly means that when you go nearer 70 and over the mpg drops dramatically. I've said it before but these cars are very expensive to run but driven sensibly the fuel costs are not much greater than any other large engined diesel. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
