Westafalia key

Another request for help from a new owner.

Could someone post a picture of the key for their westafalia towbar (or PM)? I've got a bar (with key no.) but can't remove the swan neck and a photo would help identification at the key cutters.

Thanks

Is this what you are looking for?

I know Westfalia will supply new keys if you have the number if thats any use and there seems to be plenty online who will supply the key for under a fiver if you have the code - these ones start 2W

Thanks for that. The lock only has a three digit code, so I assume it would be 2Wxxx.

No unfortunately the the key numbers are 4 digit starting 2W** so l don't think you have the key number.

I will go out and check the lock number on mine and get back to you Current Fleet:-

the key is often found, in the boot storage bin, where the hook normally is stored. if your hook is on, you might not be aware it should be in front right of luggage area in a flip lid box. go to westfalia site, and send decent picture of the key slot, thay can send you a key, maybe with proof you own the car.

Unfortunately the car had the armature, but no bar. I've acquired a bar on eBay, but it came (knowingly) without a key, just trying to sort that out!

the key number probably corresponds to the lock number on some database somewhere, a good pic of the barrel and an email to westfalia should sort it.

Be aware though, if the ball has been in the socket for some time it might not be as detachable as you think. Whistle There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I managed to get a replacement key for my Bosal / Oris hitch on the Mercedes ml... the number on the hitch is nothing like the number on the key Shocked That's is probably to stop some little Censored running off with your hitch.... anyway I just had to ping Germany with an email and they told me which key number I needed so that I could order it from Bosal in Preston Shocked Bloody long winded way of doing things Laughing

From the Westfalia website

Quote:

Keys for detachable towbars

I HAVE LOST THE KEY FOR MY DETACHABLE TOWBAR. WHAT CAN I DO?

You should always keep a record of the number on your key when you receive your Detachable Towbar. The key number is stamped into the head of the key. With this number you can get a replacement from your local Westfalia Fitting Partner or directly from us.

If you do not have a record of your key number, contact your local Westfalia Fitting Partner who will be able to request a Master Key Set from us. This contains all of the available keys. When you receive the Master Key Set try out the keys until you find the one that fits. Using the number on the key you can then order a replacement from your local Westfalia Fitting Partner or directly from us.

When you have finished with the Master Key Set please return it to your local Westfalia Fitting Partner or send it directly to us.

I paid a tenner for my Mercedes Key, and I thought that was a bit OTT...... But £22? Is it gold plated? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Well I went to my local Westfalia towbar dealer this afternoon. Apparently there is only one master key set which has a waiting list.

Whilst I was there he tried the three keys he happened to have lying about. None of them fitted, so he went to get the one from his van, which low and behold worked! I don't think it's quite the right one as it needs a bit of a wiggle, but I've got a code now so have ordered a couple of the web (he suggested this anyway).

Hopefully the copies will work.....

Just ordered one off the bay for £3.60. My number doesn't start 2W, but 5 numbers, so I hope what I was told to order is correct... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
