It does sound like a total battery fail.

Have you any jump leads?
Maybe leave bonnet up, stand by road holding them, and maybe a sexy chick, will pull over and offer you jump!
If you have no headlights, you surely have no power. Maybe you battery let go, but car was running under power of constant alternator current. If you can jump it, you might get home. On sidelights etc.

If you can get hold of a battery, (any type with terminals suited) and a 10mm spanner, (in tool wallet) you have the best chance of getting home.
What about, if you get the wing mounted repeater out, or a tail bulb spare in the glovebox....and find something like wire, to extend one of the terminals, and try it over the battery terminals, is it bright? Or mediocre?

No lights on the dash on the lead up to this ?

Sounds like the alternator has packed up, so you've been running on battery and have now killed that.

I assume you don't have AA/RAC or similar ?

I found out, that being a Barclays customer, I have some form of breakdown cover. Ive never used it....as we have green flag anyway, but might get you out of a tight spot.

+1 for a goosed alternator and run the battery flat. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thanks for all your help chaps. Absolutely no power still. No lights or anything Anywhere except for that repeater! - have AA but had to leave the old girl to get back to my younger girl who was having a bad day with the onboard dolphin boy junior.

Suspect a short somewhere but will go back later tonight and see what I can resuss.

Will update when I can.

Thumbs Up
