Yes, they deep cycle...that won't have enough instant juice to kick a tdv8 over mate

You need something along the likes of Fiddler's Ferry or Sizewell Rolling with laughter Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Australia 2008 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Rimini Red

I tried a deep cycle battery a few years back just as an experiment because I had a 110 ah kicking around , didn't work though and only lasted a year . They don't like the rapid drain of starting and take too long to charge up again so it was never getting a good charge and quickly failed . I have reconditioned it since then and it now sits in the man cave waiting for a job. 2008 MY Supercharged

Interesting that that one does claim "1100 CCA".

After replacing mine in the old tdv8 wth the Bosch S5 I am now leaning towards replacing the one in my 4.4 with a LR branded one.

The ones in the tdv8 are varta ones and the exact one isn't available over the counter at the likes of halfords, we are tending to make best guess replacements based on price. The spec of the LR branded battery nmatched to the demands of the car. No they don't last 10 years but failure can be hastened by alternator problems and they seemed to last longer than the Bosch ones There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Varta and Bosch are made in the same factory.

^ yes they are, but the specs of the factory battery are different. Lower AH rating but higher Cca than most of the off the shelf batteries as far as I can remember Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Oh ok, what are the specs?

Obviously mine is an earlier car but when I looked at replacement there were two ah options. 95Ah or 110Ah. I didn't look at the cca but the Bosch I got is 110Ah. Mine had a 110Ah fitted at the factory (according to the build sheet) presumably it was fitted on the higher spec cars to cope with things like the park heater and tv.

seem to remember it was

12v
950Amps SAE
90 AH

in my tdv8.

the S5 Bosch and Varta ones give 920A in the larger 020 size albeit with 110AH, the 019 sized ones which rate at 100ah only give 830A.

Though to some degree the figures given depend on the testing procedures they used for the CCA test. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

A couple of years back I bought a "Leisure Battery" and it has performed just fine. I definitely can start a TDV8 because I had it on one. It has sonce come with me through 2 5.0S/C models. No issues with the FBH, kids watching DVDs whilst I go in the shops etc.

This one.

On earlier cars Land Rover them selves offer an optional 110Ah battery, the 90Ah is the standard one. They didn't seem to offer it on the later models though, going by the parts catalogue. I suppose the newer generation entertainment systems are probably more efficient in terms of power consumption than the older ones.
The catalogue does say the 110Ah option was only for cars up to 4A chassis numbers, but mine (with a 5A number) still came with the 110 from the factory. Would be interesting to see what the factory 110Ah ones kick out for CCA.
