United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Adriatic Blue

I did mine with that dye about 3months back. I cleaned first with a spray on learher cleaner (turtlewax i think) and then carefully and gradually layered on the dye. Focussed on cracks and really rough bits first, then evened it out all over seat.

Its lasted thus far, i know 3 months is not much. But my kids dive all over them half the time and cat has a go if i leave doors open long enough. Just wiped coean with a damp cloth. No dye has come off etc.

Dont doubt a better prep will yield better longer lasting results, but for the effort, cost and time invested (not a lot) it was amazing to me. It seems to "soften" if that makes sense after a few bum sittings......

Scotland 2005 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Stornoway Grey

Hi,

I've been following this thread for months now, and I've finally decided to go ahead. Contacted Erisin to place order for headunit, long cable and Digital TV. Supplier replied asking if I need the 17 pin or 40 pin long cable?

My car is an 2004 Vogue, I'm assuming I need the 40 pin.

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks in advance.

John

Pretty sure its the 40 pin. Mines a 2002 and the 40pin. Think 17 pin was for older x5s

If you pull large plug off radio unit (that's the one nearest middle of boot) it should have like 16 spade connectors visible, that's the 40pin. The 17 pin is full of round bullet like connectors

Like I said, would assume its 40pin as my 2002 is (or was!)

All FF use the 40 pin, 17 pin is for BMW's...

Doesn't really matter as you cut it off the end and solder the wires anyway... Pete

@ Glasgow John, I notice you appear to have a MY2005 with, presumably touchscreen. As all the previous posts are from pre-touchscreen users I wonder if having the MOST system makes any difference for the installation.

Curious to know.

@ Weegie.

Yes I have Touchscreen. Does that make a difference?

Can anyone else advise?

John

I think if you are replacing the lot it won't make a difference but Pete, Haylands, is the man to advise.

My interest was just for clarification. John

As far as I'm aware it won't work with the touchscreen models, never looked at one so can't say, aren't all the parts then Jaguar not BMW??, this is designed for the BMW units...

Also, doesn't the touchscreen control lots of other things which will not work with the new screen?? I suppose you could have them both fitted with the old one in the glovebox..

Never heard of anyone doing it to the touchscreen FF's, maybe worth checking if you can find the relevant wires in the boot... Pete

Well every day is a school day. I wont be getting this one then.

Followed this thread for ages and never picked up that touch screen systems were excluded.

Best hope for a decent Sat Nav is a TomTom stuck to the screen with velcro Smile

Pete and all

I'm trying new things every day with the new unit. One thing I am struggling with is getting access to internet to download apps

WiFi seems to see my house or phone hotspot, but does not seem to connect. I never see any bars lot on the WiFi symbol

Anyone managed to connect WiFi?

Also, anyone done a factory data reset? It won't remove android os will it? Wondering if all my playing has changed some setting

Thx

Paul

It's like any Android tablet, click settings - wifi - it should come up with a list, then click the one you want fill in the wep key and it will connect...

Doesn't always automatically connect to my iphone6 hotspot but a few button presses and it's fine....

There is a reset button on the front, used it several times after loading a dodgy App...

You can't wipe the system.... Factory data reset will get rid of all your data.... (having said that I've never used it with this particular unit)

If you do you can always load it again... it's not too hard.... apparently.... Pete

Reverse camera trigger

G'day all..

Been following (lurking) this thread for quite sometime, and thought as I've had a successful install of the ES9753a while using Haylands brilliant install instructions, I thought it was time to register and post a question here re the reverse camera...

I have mirrored Haylands install, as in ripped out all of the OEM gear in the back and wired it directly.

I have purchased a wireless reverse camera built in to a black number plate frame, I can find a feed for the camera in the rear fromn the reverse lights, no problem, my question is this.
The head unit has a short wire which is the trigger for the reverse camera to light up on the screen, so does anyone know where I can find a feed from the reverse light wiring near the fusebox or gearbox under centre console etc.

I have searched and searched and come up with nada....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paul

unvbelievable.... Thank you so much.... after 6 hours, I've still been unable to download RAVE....

You're a gent and a scholar mate.

As a side note, I put power to the "reverse" wire on the back of the unit expecting it to go into a black screen, as there is no actual camera connected as yet, but it didn't do a thing.... does this seem right ??
