Just bought my first L322 today, hurrah! It's 2002 Vogue V8. Very exciting!

The battery was flat and I had it replaced however there's one strange thing now.
The windscreen wipers park themselves at a 90 degree angle instead of at the bottom of the windscreen.

What can I do to get them to park in the normal position?

It could be a faulty park switch in your wiper motor. Similar thing happened to mine and I had to replace the motor. Fairly simple DIY. You also have the wiper relay behind the battery, try to replace it first in case this is broken.

I would do a hard battery reset first sir

Do you need a diagnostic tool to do a hard battery reset or can it be done without tools (from the menu on the dashboard screen)?

No Daniel... Open your bonnet sir, take keys out of car and close door... Go and have a cup of coffee for at least 5mins, i suggest 10mins... Without opening any doors! Go straight to the battery and remove the earth lead (brown wire)...

Soft battery reset = leave battery disconnected for 45mins - 1hr
Hard battery reset = touch + & - wires together for 10secs VERY IMPORTANT! NOT the battery terminals! The vehicle wiring

I had the same issue shortly after purchasing my '04 and it ended up being a faulty motor. As previously mentioned - it's an easy DIY. I bought a used motor off ebay and it's still going strong 2 yrs later. 2004 RR Westminster 4.4 V8

And don't forget when reconnected battery to re set the steering angle, ie turn left and right locks to clear eas. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Might be way off, but had that on my E type all 3 wipers parked standing up and turned out to be the mass/ earth contact on the wipermotor, but then again I am not a tech

my wiper mechanism slipped on the motor shaft once when they triggered after a huge lump of snow slid down the windscreen - they were doing the same as yours, going past home position and stopping few inches up the screen.

Was a dead easy job to loosen the mechanism, re-zero it then tighten the mechanism back up.

Tried a few things but in the end the problem was solved by replacing the wiper motor.
