Shocked Shocked Lucky Censored Thumbs Up
You'll get away with the short lead that comes with the new unit and save $'s on not having to buy the extension lead Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Hi Lads,
great thread...I'm looking to have this kit put into my 04'HSE - would think it'll be straight forward enough for an installation techie to put in...

This is the clobber I've found and its in Hong Kong - closer to me in Ozz - Any recommendations / warnings before I jump in?

Seasons compliments!!

Simon

Hi ya buddy, that's the manufacturer's site, be careful of their shipping charges, they have a nasty habit of making them up as they go. If you were in the UK and you opt for the UK to UK option I think it comes up with around £13, but if you do the shipping estimator then they want to charge you £25, that's nearly 100% more Shocked
I have found that they are for sale on ebay in the UK with much more reasonable delivery charges, it might pay you to search using the model number, you might find a more reasonable price. I tried to do this the other week for something else on the Ebay Aus site but the Censored thing kept on quoting me shipping to the UK, I was trying to find a deal for someone in Aus Evil or Very Mad
If you do the drop down box for shipping to Aus, the cheapest option is $45 US Shocked, are they sending it first class Qantas Laughing Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Righty-Ho then...

Just got a reply from 'Crystal' on the Erisin service email (perhaps that's her drag queen moniker) advising me of her willingness to offer a discount when I order more kit "other items"..... sounds like a happy ending scenario...anyways - I'm assuming I need more than just the head (sic) unit as she suggests the 40pin connector and 6m cable -

Okay Lads - wtf do I need to order to get this clobber started?

Hi, if you order that head unit it comes with just about everything that you need, the only extra will be the 6M ext. lead. You will be needing that if you have any electrical clobber in the boot on the left hand side / nearside / passenger side, assuming yours is not LHD, as I know you have the steering wheel on the correct side of the car Wink And that is all I can think you'll need, along with a couple of days and the good graces of the Great God Sod. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... TV box? Did you order the DVB-T tuner as well? If you did it's supposed to plug directly into the head unit. USB stick videos not playing is probably the wrong file format, but I imagine that you can download a player that will work or do a file conversion Thumbs Up
Oh and it's nice to see someone doing a proper job with a soldering iron and heat shrink Bow down Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
