@salb name and shame! Sounds like someone is a little bent out of shape at the idea of an informed customer who pulled them on their lack of knowledge.. Never heard of updating a transmission ECU?!

Just had a flush and oil change done by IAWA in Wellingbourough at 99k when they took the sump off they said the oil was like treacle. The gear changes cold are now much smoother |

I've got to agree with Craig on that one, if you wait to do the oil change anywhere near the 75k recommendation, your screwed, the box will be FUBAR'd just wont have failed yet.

The gearbox is power flushed, as a drain and refill only gets 4-4.5 litres of oil out of the gearbox, which has a capacity of 11 litres. A double flush still only replaces 50%, due to the new oil mixing with the old...

No I would not, but I do not power flush it either, I just change whats in the sump and replace the filter. Which is all I'm going to be doing with the gearbox, but at 12k, nearer to what you'd do with the engine.

Or to go further in to this, a filter set costs about £39, 20 litres of texaco oil can be had for £70, if you use 5 litres of oil every change, and do it every 24k, for total outlay of £226 you can get 96k out of the box. How much is your power flush going to cost? at 40k or a double flush at 75k?
