I wonder how the law looks upon cars with infra red night vision?
Surely that constitutes the same level of risk as a camera showing the same view, but in the visible light spectrum? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Welshdragon thanks for the reply. I did see your excellent post earlier, but alas F7 on my bus is already taken up, and shuts down when the vehicle goes to sleep. However I shall persevere and if push comes to shove I'll come straight of the battery .

Silversurfer, I am curious as to why you want a permanent live even after the car shuts down. This would mean the dashcam would record permanently and never turn off. This could possibly flatten the car battery during long periods of the car not being used.

Most dashcams I am aware of start recording when the ignition is turned on and stop about 1 minute after the ignition is turned off. I guess you may have your reasons but thought it worth a mention.

When fitting a dash camera and hard wiring it, what size fuse should I use when using a blade piggy back holder?

Would 3amp be okay?

Hi guys
Been following the method installing a dash cam and found it simple and easy to follow.

However hit a problem with the fuse bypass. The suggested fuse 7 is already taken by the air suspension (that I daren't touch! ) - but of course I have an 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE, so there are going to be electrics differences(?)

So if anybody has the same car and fitted a dash cam, would you let me know what fuse you used please?
