To eliminate gear selector cable stiffness / corrosion holding off the gearbox inhibitor switch I would be inclined to lubricate the cable as per the link below,

Could it be a bad earth? Try putting a jump lead from the negative on the battery to the engine. '04 td6 se

When you first lock the car you could see 6-7A being drawn from the battery, possibly slightly more of the FBH has been running whilst it goes thro its purge cycle.

So i should get a reading of 0.03 amps on the fluke |

Still think its a bad connection somewhere. If you look at the instrument panel the only light thats flashing is the oil light which points the problem towards the engine side of things in my opinion. The relay thats ticking in the engine compartment is the glowplug relay which draws quite a bit of current. Double check all your main earth and power cables for good connections. Check the main fuses by pulling them out and checking their terminals are clean etc. Remember to disconnect the battery first though. If it were the ignition switch then i would imagine all the warning lights would be flashing???? Good luck |

As Ian says and also the oil light is flashing, dont think mine flashes like that.
