The flashing lights I am unsure whether they normally flash or not but the rest of the interior of the car is alive with pulsing as if it all starts up then runs out of welly then starts again, a bit like when your battery is flat and the solenoid starts dropping out because the starter has nicked all the current.

yes i also think its a bad connection somewhere and the ignition switch has been the culprit it would appear in a few similar threads so start there £30 squids delivered .....eventually

Stuart, sounds like instrument cluster to me, had same issue with mine, I dont know how to diagnose, but indy couldt fix and had to go to main dealer, all good after that

Did you get this problem sorted as my car wont start today when I turn the key in the ignition.
Im looking along the lines of changing the "Ignition switch contact housing"
