The thing is, you can't subsidise him if he's paid over the odds for the car by paying more than it's worth.

The car has a value and it's all down to how much he paid and how much you're willing to pay. Clearly he's in the business of making a profit, but not if he hasn't bought wisely in the first place. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Just thinking, since most (if not all) TDV8s have the Fuel Burning Heater (FBH), I would have thought there would have been the remote fob for that as well as the 2 keys. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Hoping this is the one! Seems to tick all the boxes, has all the toys etc. What do you think? Very Happy

It looks clean and tidy - but it doesn't look 18.5 grands worth of clean and tidy.

He was adamant that there was no moving in price but Im going to see if someone more presuasive will have more luck with him. I'm also thinking need to add tax to it if he wont pay that and then fuel home from Cardiff! So will end up a good couple of hundred pounds more. Decisions decisions! Im just aware that the prices are going to creep up even more as the winter approaches!

What if there was another offer on the RR you're interested in? This is how I got a bit of deal on our BMW. Dealer wouldn't budge on the price. I had a figure in mind that I wanted to pay, offered him the figure and said the car was over priced compared to others I was looking at. He wouldn't budge, so a mate rang to enquire about the same car and offered £500 less than my offer saying he was a cash buyer and would buy over the phone with debit card without seeing it. Dealer of course said, "no". But it did put my higher offer in a better light. I didn't get it for my original offer but he did come down a good bit on what he had said originally. Only word of warning I would add is that if you have a scottish accent it may pay for the other person not to have an accent Wink It won't be everyday that a Cardiff dealer gets 2 enquiries from the Glasgy area!!

Looks nice by the way. I would have a look underneath and see what it looks like. May have done a bit of off roading? Pedals and foot rest are a bit muddy. Maybe nothing, but my Disco4 is off road everyday and this is how the pedals get with constantly muddy boots. May have been a one off and should have been covered with the valet, but if they've missed the dirt on the pedals they may have missed some bits underneath.

Scotland 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black

Hi,

Mann Automotive in Laurencekirk usually have a good inside track to good Rangie's coming on the market. I seen a few good second hands on his lot last week but wasn't paying too much attention, definitely a black RR with privacy and side bars.
Worth you giving him a call.

haha, sadly not! Still on the hunt! Was hoping to have one before my birthday on Friday but that is looking very unlikely! Big Cry

Keep swinging from getting a cheaper Td6 and having pennies in the bank for any unforseen circumstances, then abandoning that plan and blowing the budget on a (higher mileage) TDV8! Decisions decisions.

Seen a nice one last night- http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...?logcode=p
Any thoughts?

I promise I'll get one some day..... Big Cry

Did you see the TDV8 Vogue SE in the for sale section. It has 2010 face lift and warranty till May next year. Might be worth a look although I suspect its at the top end of your budget.

any thoughts on the alloys? Appear to be LR, not sure if they are genuine Overfinch or copies? Cant see the Overfinch inscription on the alloy.

They look like Range Rover Sport Stormer copies but in 22inch flavour. Definitely not Overfinch. 22's will also kill the ride quality.

mmmh, do you think there is a market for them if I want to sell? I really like the car, but concerned about the alloys

Wouldnt imagine the wheels are worth that much, would very much depend on condition and quality of tyres /tread depth.

By the time you add the price of some wheels and tyres etc then the face lifted Vogue SE I mentioned seems even better value, as it will have heated and cooled seats with electrochromatic side mirrors, adaptive headlights, cornering lights, and rear screens with 6 disc dvd player in the boot. All this is standard as far as I am aware on the Vogue SE and not on the Vogue.
