What a day!!

So today the plan was to find and fix my cooling system leak, fit the new S5 battery then kick back and relax till it was time to go to work in the evening!! Shocked
To start off with the blue point coolant system pressure tester i bought fits near every make and model of car on the planet except Land Rover's!! Not to worry plan b was to just strip the water pump and thermostat out and replace the gaskets and liberally coat in gasket sealant!
I have never encountered so many seized and or rounded bolts in my life!! By this time i was starting to think we were jinxed but then again how much worse could it get! Sad
We get everything rebuilt and decide now's the time to swap out the battery. Using the disconnection procedure in the wiki the old Yuasa battery was out in no time. Trying to get the S5 in on the other hand was a pain in the arse! After 30 mins of crushed fingers and swearing she finally gave it up and slid in like a champ!! Hooked it up and away we go! Reversed the Rangie out of the Garage onto the drive way to start the flushing out of the Green coolant to refill with red. Once the water was running clear we started refilling with the good stuff and thats when it happened! Turning but no starting!! Now after the day we've had thus far you can imagine that there were perhaps one or two less than savoury words uttered! So, after i'd stopped crying we put in an SOS to our local Indy specialists seeking enlightenment. After explaining that we thought it was being starved of fuel we were told to grab a hammer and get down under the back passenger side wheel, drop the wee inspection hatch and with the ignition on batter the fuel pump. I initially thought he was on the wind up but being on the brink of petrol and matches we fired in and gave it hell! Sure enough she burst into life! I felt Dr Frankenstein, IT'S ALIVE!!!
She's been topped up, bled and is now hopefully leak free. Time will tell!
As i said, What a day!! Censored
