TuggRR- Thats not too far from me but not massively keen on the colour. I see they have a silver on for sale but no mileage advertised and black interior rather than ivory which isnt ideal Sad

I actually looked at a few Saxton ones online then very quickly picked up on some bad experiences which have been shared on here so elected to steer clear! Just not worth the hassle in my opinion. Had a look at the one Gary has on his site but it's just not for me Sad Will keep checking though as he gets rave reviews on here!

Going to visit a few on saturday to try to get an idea of what I want and what my priorities are- two TDV8's and a Td6. To be fair I would rather set fire to my face than drive the Td6 with the current alloys on it but that can be QUICKLY remedied Mr. Green These are the ones I'm going to view-

Yep - agreed on the colour.
Just thought with it being nearby to see what you think of -
A Scottish car - condition etc
AJV8 - to drive
You don't have to buy it !

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

^^
1. Hideous wheels Shocked
2. Widely accepted as being one of the best colours - great spec as well
3. Good looking standard car - not keen on the sand interior, personally

A few to choose from to have a look at then ?

Number 1 is an abomination!

Definitely number 2. It's a VSE and despite those who say the cooled seats are just a gimmick in his country, I'd never be without them.

Having had a Stornoway grey SC and now a Java black TDV8, let's just say my next car won't be black! Thumbs Up

I've been to Killermont car sales a few times and each time I have, I've never been approached by a salesman. When I did finally approach one myself, I didn't get a good vibe from him.

I used to live in Lenzie and popped into Expressway a few times and always found them very friendly and helpful. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Alanm_3 pointed me in the direction of a VSE not too far from me so I am going to view that this weekend if it is still there, however it is top end of the budget and doesnt have side steps, privacy glass or towbar which will all push up the spend if I decide to take the plunge, so not ideal but deffo worth a view and a test drive. Also one other nearby but sand interior rather than ivory, but again probably worth viewing and driving as I want to try to get a feel for any differences between them, and whether one sounds/ feels better than the other. I have started to realise that my hopes of getting my FFRR before the end of the month have been somewhat ambitious Big Cry

If anyone has the desire to deliver their black/ buckingham blue Vogue/ VSE with ivory trim to my door in an act of wonderful charity just let me know.... Rolling with laughter

The grey one @Expressway does have side steps and getting tints done is a matter of a couple of hundred quid @Pentagon in Glasgow.

As to your question re. 800 miles in an SC, I would reckon between £250 and £300.

My offer to have a look over my car still stands Thumbs Up Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

When I first caught sight of number 1's alloys I almost binned the search entirely. If people can drive about with those alloys and keep a straight face then I'm not sure if this is a world I want to be part of Rolling with laughter However, alloys are easily changed but my concern would be what other questionable/ homemade mods have been made/ added. I really dont want to pick up a FFRR that has been tampered with by person of questionable taste. Each to their own and all that I suppose...

The consensus from my end is also number 2. As soon as I showed it to the OH he was sold and thought all plans of black/ buckingham blue should be abandoned. I know the photos arent great but Im not totally sold on the colour combo yet, hopefully that will be a different story when I see it. As I mentioned before my only concern is the price as I would need to factor privacy glass and tow bar into the equation, plus I havent even considered whether it will need serviced/ taxed Big Cry Whilst on the subject of servicing, does anyone have a link to anywhere I can pick up some hints or tips of what I should be wanting to see in the service history? I've had a look in the wiki but cant see anything. And I know what you are all thinking- this thread is turning into "FFRR Purchasing for Morons".... Laughing

IMHO, based on the images/ Ads:

1. Does it look somewhat dated/ like it's trying too hard to look like a footballer's/ glamourous person's car (and yet perhaps many footballers/ glamourous people would not be too keen on it) reference the wheels that might appeal to the few as opposed to the many and there appears to be something wrong with the grey finish on the rear console between the seats (chipped and/ or blistered looking?). If you feel it has been badly pimped, one wonders if elsewhere they have skimped?

2. Very classy, "proper" looking RR. To advertise it as 2010 Spec seems a little over zealous because is it not just the wheels that are 2010MY (nice though those wheels are)? This car stands out to me, certainly from an interior perspective, as looking the most up to date and fresh of the cars on show, if that makes sense. The VSE spec makes it appealing too. Good colour combination and looks very nice.

3. Nice enough looking car. Never been impressed with adverts that start/ make a point of telling the potential buyer that it's the 'Director's' car or some other so called 'VIP's' car. My reaction to things like that has always been "So what, has it been properly looked after?"

My tuppence worth Thumbs Up

I totally agree with your comment re. certain professions giving the car some form of guarantee over others. I saw one the other night that was a great pains to say it was owned by a doctor. I know a few doctors, and that isn't a positive advertisement IMO!!

pld118- thanks for the links, I'm off to do my studying in preparation for this weekend's viewings Very Happy Thanks for your comments, I'm pretty much in agreement with your thoughts on all 3 cars! Just need to view the grey one and weigh up further costs to get it in line with what I am looking for.

alanm_3- £1200 fuel bill per month on that mileage? Jeeez Big Cry Might take you up on your offer if this grey one turns my head at the weekend! Need to compare before taking the leap I think!

Found another at Stratstone, made a request to get it moved to my local to have a look at. Similar price to the one at Expressway- except this is Vogue not VSE, but on plus side it has towbar Sad Happy medium Big Cry

As you say, the Stratstone one is "only" a vogue, but it doesn't have the SC front grill, and the wheels are only 19", so you need to weigh that up against the cost of the tow bar on the "local one" should you decide to change the grill & wheels on the Stratstone one. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Yea I just had another look at it and it doesnt look as good as the local one. Hoping it doesnt go before I get a chance to view it! Suitable cars are few and far between up here sadly Sad
