I don't want your waterlogged module .. It's no good to me .

What you really need is most loop ... This will allow you to unplug each module and test which one is at fault .

Water in the Bluetooth module is quite common ... I removed one the other week ... And tipped it upside down ... It was like a river flowing out  Bluetooth Exchange www.bluetoothexchange.co.uk

Just unplug the most connector from each unit ( one at a time ) and plug it in the most loop . If the system comes back to life you have found the faulty module  Bluetooth Exchange www.bluetoothexchange.co.uk

Do you know anyone else that has a RR?

You could swap the phone module over to check yours.

hi paul, no i dont im afriad. i dont know if this is causing the problem as i lost the phone first but still had everything else running for around 4 months before it all stopped when i jumped the car? i do have it booked into a RR specialist to do a diagnostic but i wonder if there computer would find this problem.? i dont want a big labour bill for them to end up telling me they dont know what the problem is so i might just cancel the appointment and try sort it myself.

i will send off for this most loop though as it sounds a handy thing to have around.

Nokia is the Bluetooth module. There are 2 fibre optic cables go into each unit, an input and an output. If you take the connector out of the Nokia, then take both cables out of the connector (they are held in with a little clip). If you line up the ends perfectly the signal goes out of one cable and into the next, simulating passing through the Nokia. This bypasses the Nokia and if that was the only fault, the system will come back to life!
I put the fibre cable ends in a straw and taped a piece of metal to it to keep it straight.

HI GUYS? thanks for all your replies regarding this issue. i will give you my findings when i get on and check connections , test the nokia optic, disconnect the new battery etc, but i am unable to do this before the coming weekend so you can all take a breather with your replies

i have also ordered the most optic loop which i think will come in handy in future trouble shooting i think.

however, as it has been suggested that my first port of call is re disconnecting the battery now that the new one has been fitted --- would it make sense to do this AFTER the units and connections have been checked, thentry the disconnect proceedure after that if still not working , or would you suggest to go ahead with the disconnect in the first instance

hi folks, ok i have started my investigations into the audio/nav screen problems and today i have had the battery disconnected for the last 7 hours. i removed both leads. i reconnected and start up, but alas, the fauls are still as they were. so that confirms it not the battery that caused the problem. next on the list will be checking all the connections and then start by checking the nokia module. i should have my MOST LOOP by then so will let you all know. i was going to take the optic plug out of the nokie and put them in the straw as suggested as a quick test, but knowing my luck i might damage something? so would rather wait for the loop.

HI FOLKS. whilst i am trying to get to grips with the problem i have re the loss of the audio/navigation screen etc, i have the RR booked into the garage for a service on tuesday. i had mentioned to them the problems i have regarding the gps etc and they said they would do a diagnostic to see if they could find the problem. i dont know if they meant putting it on the computer or just trying to find the fault by playing around with the plugs, etc etc.? if it is the former, do you think the dealer computer is capable of finding a fault like this? if so how long do you think it would take to go through the system check? so i have an idea of the cost BEFORE i give them the go ahead !!!

the reason i ask is because the garage suggested that they would need the vehicle for at least a full day???!!!, which would be around 700euro labour charges. the problem with these french garages is that they will try it on simply because you are english,

Why not wait till you get your Most loop?? You have to rule out the easy stuff first. You have got to do this methodically.. Or just put it into a garage and be done with it!! Previously..

I presume you have checked Fuse 49, as this is one thing that would give your problems. Before going to a french garage I would be checking to see if you you have 12V and earth to your satnav unit with the ignition on.
Sorry, can't help with french garages, don't use them.

HI again, yes i guess that would make sense. i will just get the service done i think and if the worst comes to the worst, i will plan a short trip to the uk and book it into a dealer there.

with regards to fuse 49, i have checked the fuse and it seems ok, also i assume the satnav is the dvd rom in the boot? , well it is working in as much that i can remove and insert the disc, so i guess that means it is working .

of coarse please correct me if im wrong
