Australia 2017 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

From Patrick at GAP Diagnostic some time ago

Hi Gary

“Had a quick play this morning. All appears good. In fact I think than navigation is even quicker than before. Without going back & triple checking pretty sure engine & trans ECU’s appear.
A “ Excelent, that’s what we needed to know. Thank you!

“When I check for faults it says there are 22.
A Actually, the first time you do a read fault after and update (or when using the unit for the first time), the IIDTool does a scan to know what ECUs are present on the vehicle. In your case, 22 ECUs.

“Not all are listed maybe 18-20. Read faults then clear all. Then read faults again 4-5 show up. Hit clear all & it clears 22 faults.”
A When doing a clear all, the number 22 is also the number of ECUs, like in the explanation above.

“To me none of the faults are major so haven’t started to chase then down yet. “
A We will be happy to help if you need it.

Yes, the message wording can be misleading. Will work on changing it in one of the coming updates.

Hi there,

My reverse camera today has stopped working (black screen).

If I hook up the IIDTool will it read a fault?

Thanks.

Sorry if this has been posted before - I have read most of this thread, but didn't see what I was looking for.

With the Australian Summer about to start, is it safe to leave the IID tool in the glovebox over Summer? With the car all locked up and sitting in the sun on a 40 to 45 degree celcius ambient day - the temp in the car would be???? - I would think about 65 to 70 degrees. I know the ECU's survive this - but they have fans, just wondering if I can safely leave the tool in the car at all times?

Oh, and just enabled lazy lock and unlock - very cool!!! Thumbs Up

Cheers - Gav

Thanks, but that worries me a bit as my cheapy sat nav died last year while in the centre console of my work car on a 42 degree day... Mind you, I would like to think that the IID tool is a bit better built than an Aldi sat nav... Mr. Green

Cheers - Gav.

Hi SteveMFr, I've just spent a good few hours trawling through the various IID Tool threads and what a fantastic product you guys have created.

My question is simple, and I guess I know the answer, but just want to be clear. I have both a 2007 RR TDV8 and a 2005 Disco 3 TDV6, do i need to buy two IID tools, one for each vehicle? Or do I purchase one with a VIN unlock code for the other vehicle.

I guess that I would need a tool per vehicle type, and then more than 1 model can be added to each tool for the various models of the vehicle type (not that I would need to do this)

Just want to be sure before I put in an order....or 2!

Normal Mode

Guys,
Remember to reset to Normal mode after setting Tight tolerance mode - I forgot and had some air suspension problems. Patrick was very patient and "tolerant" when he suggested that I may have unintentionally or accidentally entered Tight tolerance mode.
Disconnecting the battery does not reset it.
Must try harder Thumbs Up Geoff

Hi Dave,
I spoke to Patrick - he thinks you have not yet upgraded your IIDTool FW to version 2.17 - but you mention hot and cold monitoring on the LCM so it sounds as if you have version 2.17? We have just improved our updater: it now reads the FW version on the IIDTool and downloads the latest FW from our servers live so that the user no longer needs to figure out what he needs. It also updates our database automatically so that we will now know exactly which FW version is on who's IIDTool without any manual intervention - so no more uncertainties like this. To check your FW version, press down when you are in the top level of the IIDTool menu and it will show you the FW version for 2-3 secs. See the tree below. 2.17 or 2.14?

If you need to update, go to the GAP website, login, click the 'My GAP' tab, and then 'My Products' in the menu. A chart will pop up showing the IIDTool and the FW version. Click on update directly below the FW version and follow the instructions. This process only takes 2-3 minutes in total. Also make sure you DL the correct version of the user manual for your FW at the same time ('Documentation' in the same chart once the update has been completed).

Yes, the cold monitoring is what makes LEDs flash on start (cold bulbs). The LCM runs short pulses of power through the bulbs to check continuity. On incandescent bulbs you don't see this, but LEDs light immediately. Hot monitoring checks that the bulbs have continuity while they are turned on (hot bulbs). Both hot and cold monitoring can be switched on and off in Car Config>LCM.

We will make a complete tree of CCF-Editing options (Car Config) available when the FW development has been completed (hopefully w/in the next 8 weeks). At the moment you simply scroll through the options... If you have any questions about the availability of an option, please post.

IIDTool menu->Car Config-> BPM-Body Processor->Rain Sensor

These options are not under Calibration but rather under Car Config (see tree below). You will not have the 'Car Config' menu item if you are still on FW 2.14.

Also, please note the restore Car Config and CCF in Save/Restore. Just in case you get into trouble you can always go back to the original settings.

Hi SAppie.
Missed this completely - sorry! Embarassed

Yes, you will need 2 IIDTools as the FW is different. Confused And yes, within the IIDTool types, you can add more VINs (e.g. 2 D3's, 2 06-09 L322's, etc).
