See what your dealer will charge you then shop around but a dealer will probably be about £100 - £130 onto no6 Range Rover

If you buy a battery, and it makes no difference to any of these other faults, at least you'll have eliminated it as a possible cause. However batteries do always fail at around 5 years, and the first symptoms are always error codes relating to engine, gearbox and suspension.

Just take the old battery out, leave for 20 minutes then fit new battery. Turn steering wheel from full lock one way to the other, that will reset the suspension and steering sensors. Do a search for other topics on battery disconnection, that should give you peace of mind. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Right one massive Bosch battery purchased, so tomorrows job will be fitting it. I am sure my RR is listening however as when I pulled up at some lights half mile from home, it went to ideal then cut out, then when I went to turn over it fired then the engine fault warning come on again. Turn off and restart, all cleared again. Now a battery would not make the car cut out at ideal, or would it.

Thanks. Bonnet locked up, neg off first, wait 10 mins, then pos off, old battery out, clean up and make room for massive Bosch, fit new as far right, to outside as I can to make room for pos fitting, pos on first with pressive no faffing about, then neg on with pressure. Fire the RR up, turn full lock left, full lock right and all should be ok

Hey Steve, happy to help & if you get aggro again after the new battery has been fitted & you have gone for a drive, swing over & we'll hook her up again. Might also manage a cuppa - where was my manners, don't tell the Mrs! Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

From experience the big batteries just fit, no slack or space left or right. You will also look at the hole it has to go into and then look at the battery and have doubts, but it will go. Unless you are quite tall with muscles, use a small platform (not a plastic bucket!) to give yourself a bit more height and leverage when removing and fitting the battery. . Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Volvo V70 P2 2006 2.4 Petrol 170bhp Estate SE MG Midget Mk1 1962 Previous: L322 Range Rover TDV8 3.6 2008; L322 Range Rover TD6 3.0 2002; P38A Range Rover V8 1999 |
