don't worry, fill it with grease it'll be fine... once you find time to do it that is.

I've had the trim bits in my shed for over a year now and not got around to do the bloody job yet! Dan

Resurrecting an old thread....
Mark - how many of these VLR001623 strips do you need to do both rear wheel arches? I’m getting confused even after reading thread over and over Big Cry
Is it 4 to do both rear arches with only one join or 4 to do all arches front and back?

Hi mate,

You don’t need any protectors on the front as the front wings are aluminium so don’t rust.

You need 4 to do the rears if you don’t want a join. You can’t run all the way round in 1 go. Have a look at your rear arch and you will see what I mean.

The dealer has them in different lengths, so it may be if you got a longer strip, you could manage with 2, but I didn’t go through doing that.

Some have recommended plastic door edge strips off eBay, and in hindsight that might be an option as my strips have been on 3 years and they are out of shape and need replacing again really.

That make sense? Thumbs Up 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Have just posted this on another thread:

I really wanted one continuous strip front to back so I bought something similar to the ebay link in rubber.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Door-Guard-...27cac56ea1

Problem was if you run it around the lip when you get to the at the 12 o'clock position there is a kink in the lip and I could not get the rubber edge to conform.

So never fitted it. On the 'to do list' though.

If you could fit a plastic something that could be heated to adapt to the kink it would be an ideal solution

How did others deal with the kink? Cheers, Greg
