have you tried manually switching on park assist?

the owners manual says that if theres a fault you will hear a high pitched note sounding...

also have a look in the workshop manual because i believe there's a troubleshooting section there..

and is there an on/off in the menus anywhere? ... - .- -.

right tried to enable pdc but no change ...can one faulty sensor stop them all working and if so wouldn't it show an error code using the gap tool ????

This is me just thinking out loud as I had trouble with the sensors on an old BMW of mine. I had one faulty sensor which turned the whole system off. To determine the faulty sensor I manually turned them on via the button inside and, putting your ear close to each sensor outside, you could hear a faint clicking sound from the working ones. No feedback at all from the faulty one. Swapped this out and the system came to life.

I’m assuming the systems are completely different but I guess it’s an idea to try. 2009 facelift L322 3.6 TDV8 - Buckingham Blue

In a word, yes - one faulty sensor will cause both front and rear sensors to be disabled, a DTC should be logged and should identify the faulty sensor, wiring issue etc. When a fault is detected you get a 3 second low tone and the PDC switch led flashes 6 times and then the contact dealer message is displayed.

Have you checked with the GAP IID that you can communicate with the PDC ecu etc? Are you checking for just permanent codes only on the GAP tool, if so, try pending codes etc L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

maybe a coincidence, but 255 seems like an error (it's 8 x 1's in a 1 Byte register) Wondering if it's the module?

It may well just be that the maximum discernible distance is 2.55m... Formerly happymadison1978

I suppose the check would be walk around the car whilst monitoring the values and see if they change.

So, just checked my car, same spec, surround cameras and auto park and it does indeed default to a max of 2.55m but do change as something moves into the detection range.
