You need the codes reading, just changing bits because you saw it on a forum is a great way to bankrupt yourself... Pete

Many thanks for your answer, diagnostics have been run, the result showing that the fault is the compressor, what I can’t understand is why it’s ok for most of the time then the massage flashes up on the dash which then doesn’t appear after restarting the car and may not appear again for over a week.

Do you have the specific fault code/s you can share? That will likely help pinpoint the component/s that aren’t happy.

You bought a Range Rover, you have to get used to this happening....!!!! As JCW says there are many sensors in the system, incl heat and pressure, the two have to follow a strict regime to work properly, if they vary from the expected then a fault is shown... Just look at it as the Range Rover has given you fair warning that something is amiss and needs attention. As said, the filter is the first thing to check but that usually gives a different fault, it's a good starting point, it's free, and something you can do yourself.... 32,000 and no I don’t have a warranty. This is my 5th Range River and probably the 12th LR vehicle.

The car was examined by an independent and according to their diagnostics the fault was the compressor - “that’s about £850 plus fitting” now I’ve looked online and found aftermarket compressors for less than £400. I don’t mind paying to maintain my Range Rover but I’m not going to be treated like an idiot! That’s why I was asking for other peoples experiences as usually these issues with JLR vehicles are not isolated. 2020 MY Vogue |

If you are going to keep it then can I suggest you buy a GAP IID and you can diagnose most things yourself or put the codes on here to get some help... Pete
