Icarsoft DPF regeneration

Has anyone managed to get the icarsoft to do an active regeneration on their car? I've got the red dpf full light on the dash but everytime I try and activate the regen through the icarsoft it just kicks me out.

Just an obvious note that it's only to be completed once the cause of the DPF filling is resolved.

Also tried a motorway run to see if it will self re-gen? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Yes mate there was a split in one of the intake pipes which I've replaced. I've tried taking it on a run but it won't regen as it's showing a soot level of 33 on the live data.

i have managed to do regens with an i carsoft
needs to be up to temp but the i carsoft will let you know when you can do it normally takes around 4 miles to get the regen properly going and you can watch the soot value drop

Also make sure there are no other engine related fault codes as this can prevent regeneration. This is from the workshop manual
"If, due to vehicle usage and/or driving style, the active regeneration process cannot take place or is unable to regenerate the
DPF, the dealer can force regenerate the DPF. This is achieved by either driving the vehicle until the engine is at its normal
operating temperature and then driving for a further 20 minutes at speeds of not less than 30 mph (48 km/h)."

The very common PO40D-00-(2F) EGR fault code definitely doesn’t prevent Forced Regens with the Gap iid.

Still no luck today with the regen. Wondering if I need to tell the car the dpf has been replaced before it will allow the regeneration because of the red warning light?

DO NOT do this. It resets the estimated ash load and the whole regen process will be messed up. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Tried again today, updated the icarsoft and still no luck had communication failed coming up when trying to do the regen. Wondering if I put a cleaner through the dpf will it get the soot content down enough for me to clear the codes and get the dpf triangle from red to yellow so that I can take it on a run to regen

You should seriously consider buying a Gap iid.
I can assure that it will complete a Forced Regen and clear your soot level down from 33g to single figures and at the same time clear the Red DPF fault and the restricted performance visit dealer message.

It is very easy to use and will pay for itself in no time .

i carsoft can clear red dpf and force regen as i pointed out 6 month before gap decided to allow people to do this it can be done just seems lile there is some issue
the iid is all singing and dancing but also a chunk of money in the fact that mine sits in glove box just waiting to be used

Hi guys bit of an update...

Sent the diagnostic log off to icarsoft to see why it won't allow the car to regenerate and waiting for them to get back. Used a local garages diagnostic tool that said the soot content is above 60g and the dpf needs to be replaced. Can't see how it's that high as since the red light came on the car basically hasn't moved and is showing 31g on the icarsoft live data.

Just wondering wether the GAP IID will definitely allow me to do a forced regeneration without the warning of too much soot in the DPF or will I need to purchase a DA-DPF dongle as suggested in another post to reset the soot count
