Spent a couple more fruitless hours trying to get the wiper arm off the spindle so I can have my new windscreen.

Transfer case oil change. Far easier than I expected. The oil was darker than I expected too. I suppose it has a clutch, so it's quite different to the front and rear diffs. I'm keen to get on and change the gearbox oil now! (But I am waiting on parts). |

Got confirmation that the warranty on my car is going to pay for the front crankshaft oil seal, pulleys and tensioner, as well as new belts and the labour.

Changed the front upper arms and track arms on the front today on both sides as well as the bastard ball joints they took some pounding, heat and more pounding to get them out. All back together test drive complete rides much better. However, ns wheel is now caked in grease, seems I must have nicked the CV boot, massive headache...... now have to sort that it never rains it pours!!!! Current

Got it back from the Indy after having all the pulleys, tensioner, idler thingies, belts and crankshaft oil seal changed. Winced at the £1,800 bill which I didn’t have to pay and felt for the chap I got the car from who did cough up.

Changed the oil and filter this morning and air filters. Used an oil extractor vacuum pump, what an excellent bit of kit. Took out 9 litres, refilled with 8 litres, then warmed her up checked again, topped up half a litre took it for a 10 minute drive, checked again and oil level spot on. Also calibrated the suspension, all nice and level. |

Installed the 2003 dog guard in my 2012 - yes it can be done ! Changed the rotary gear selector topper, see tips on using a screw to pop the old one off. Cut out the old shonky wiring repair to the top of the offside front shock and re-wired with proper soldered connections and heat shrink tubing.

Installed DAB+ and bounced down the road to drop it off at the garage to get the suspension issue sorted. |
