Took my old bus for an MOT today, just over 96300 on the clock now, a pass with no advisories Very Happy Car had been standing for over 5 months, as went back to sea last October and MOT ran out in November!! A good result !

Mind you, it was not a big surprise considering the amount of money I keep spending on it Big Cry

Fitted a new coolant expansion tank and sensor. No more "Coolant Low" warnings, hopefully!

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.

Stripped both rear callipers and cleaned and greased everything, I can believe my O/S/R - which is only 6 months or so old had semi-seized again. Not the greatest design I think.

Fitted one of the naviplus CarPlay units. Very pleased that I went with the unit that fully integrates into the factory unit rather than a separate screen.

I fitted the Westfalia armature and detachable tow bar, it wasn’t without hurdles though: donor armature was from a pre-2007 model so I have to grind off my existing exhaust mounts, then the electrics mounting plate was rusted onto the power plug, so the Dremmel came out to ‘encourage’ it and all came good. Put everything back together and find myself with two boot trim lugs left over, doh! It probably took me about 3hrs in total with all the work around. Chuffed to but now to have the tow bar and electrics working. Current: Range Rover L322 4.4tdv8, Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 2, BMW 535d Touring, Skoda Fabia, BMW S1000XR

I did a quick 200 mile round trip to see my latest grandson because he has grown so quickly in the 8 weeks since he was born.

Sold it !!!
Unfortunately a few life changing issues have arisen lately and I have decided to call it quits on the RR front. I really enjoyed my 12 years with the brand and learned a lot on Martin’s forums, but time to move on - going Hybrid !
As a result I will have a few things to sell both on here and the RRS site.

Managed to dig out the brake shoe pin which had rusted and pulled through the backplate grrrrrr.

Seeing as it’s not making a noise and everything works, I think I’ll leave it until it gets a bit warmer before I tackle this beauty.

Drove at between 60 and 65mph instead of 70-75mph on a trip round and back on the southern section of the M25 yesterday to see how practical it was as a way to save fuel. Reckon a lot of other drivers are doing the same. Didn't feel at any time I was holding up the flow of traffic or that I was wasting time or should be going faster - if I have to spend extra time in my L322 that's a good thing! 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Got round to changing the Wiper relay after the wipers decided to randomly stop working for a few minutes on me in a heavy downpour on the motorway at 70mph a month ago.

Hopefully this will sort them out otherwise I'll be checking the wiper motor park switch for sufficient solder.

Well, yesterday was a day of triumph followed by abject failure. Wanted to get the front discs and pads changed. Firstly, having been horrified at the ludicrous price of LR OE brake pads I bought a Meyle HD disc and pad kit from Advanced Factors. Then, into the job.

Started on o/s. locating pins were little sods to drive out, but managed it in the end. However, n/s was a completely different story. No way will those pins budge, I've bent two drifts trying. Given up now that the ends of the pins are burred over and I'll have to get my local Indy to do the job at the next service (I always have the 15k service done at a garage to kept the service history up). Pretty damned annoyed, I hate having a half finished job. Drives:
