2011 battery choices AGM 019 ?

Hi Team,

Have run the RR around once a week over lockdown and my battery, on it's last legs last winter, finally threw in the towel needing a jump start today.

Had one of those mini jump starter batteries sat there, a last christmas present. Whipped that onto the terminals and boom worked a treat.

A few choices coming up for reasonable sub £150 :

Yuasa

Hankook

Exide

all 95amp, all 850cca

I know a few have fitted the Exides - any experiences or no-gos generally?

Also they all seem to say stop-start... Is that different?

I know I need 091 AGM.

Cheers guys Cheers, Greg

I went for the Yuasa 019 AGM from Tanya batteries - £135 delivered. Few on here had issues getting the 020 fitted.

I'd have to check under the bonnet again, but pretty sure when I was fitting the CTEK charger quick connect leads to the Land Rover branded battery in my 5.0 S/C, it also had Exide stamped on it in a few places. Not that I want to restart the brand/OEM argument from another thread...!

I’m still not convinced as to whether the 020 will actually fit. Some so no, some say yes....some say you have to cut the battery edge..... and some say it’s not even The Stig 🤣

I do all my own jokes....

019 AGM is fine, the LR is a 90AH exide battery and it’s plenty big enough most of the time.

I would go for the LR one personally (and I did).👍🏻 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Rob has included a link to the one I bought.
Nearly 3 years later and it still seems a good choice ( touch wood).
Mainly because of the 5 year warranty.
If it fails at 5yrs I will think it has served me well and buy another one.

The 020 I put in mine did need to have one plastic lip removed to fit properly.

It was a 1000 cca and 110 ampere hours. I went for it because I use the FBH a lot and found the 019 ( even though checked and found good) used to throw up the ' start engine , battery low ' warning a lot and I would find myself without a toasty car some morning.

Plenty of threads on this with plenty of different opinions, the above is mine Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

I'd love to know how you did that Dolph !

Tried to get an 020 in mine and basically the pos terminal was in the way of the side of the plastic box -- I suppose I could have removed the scuttle drain tube - but then faced water on top of the battery !

Really couldn't see how it could be done ! Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

You cut off one of the bottom side lugs with a hand saw.....

Did it on my 3.6 to make an 020 fit. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Cheers for all the replies guys.....

I must admit I'd go for an 020 but hearing equal "it fits" and "it won't fit"
..

BTW if a battery is "Start/Stop" and AGM and 019 is it any different being marked "Start/Stop" ?

. Cheers, Greg
