Keep the updates coming Rob, I must admit I was a bit sceptical about the DPF Pressure Sensor being at fault but then again, this system seems to work in mysterious ways so nothing would surprise me. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE |

Replaced the water in fuel sensor but this made no difference to the regeneration situation, I didn’t think it would but as it was throwing the RP message regularly it needed doing anyway. Went down the motorway as my soot was at 20g and sat at around 60MPH but temp on bank 1 sensor 2 didn’t go above 450 whereas bank 1 sensor 3 went as high as 620. My soot level never dropped in 30 minutes (was at 20.9g by the time I turned around). What was interesting though was that the soot level dropped to 19.9g as I went around the roundabout and was at 20.2g some 20 minutes later when I pulled off the motorway. Soot level continued to drop slowly every time I either stopped or pulled away from the lights. By the time I got home I had a reading of 16.2g so it would seem that there is a passive regeneration taking place, albeit at a snails pace. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE |

Might be something to do with the split in the donut as posted separately maybe?

Hi Rob, highly possible but this was supposed to have been checked with a high pressure smoke test some time ago, the inlet manifold was replaced instead although I was told no smoke was seen to be leaking. I suspect, although I could be wrong, that the test was never carried out, instead they opted for an inlet manifold replacement as it's another known issue. The misting has been there for some time but yesterday the light just seemed to catch it right which drew my attention. I will order a new plenum (nothing seems to be cheap anymore) and will fit this hopefully on the weekend and will report back and advise if finally the vehicle is fixed or if I have just spent another £500 and got nowhere. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE |

Perhaps it could be plastic welded? Worth a try and save you a few quid Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

The thought did cross my mind but in the end I just ordered a new one, at least I get peace of mind that way. What was interesting though was the fact that this part is still being superceeded so it makes you wonder if there are still issues with the previous ones. Maybe the carbon build up causes a restriction to the air flow which in turn generates more pressure than the weld can withstand. It's a shame it wasn't two halves joined together with either clips or bolts so you could open it up and give it a damn good clean and fit a new gasket. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE |

Looking forward to seeing the results! There is a thread on here somewhere on how to remove and replace the donut Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Managed to fit plenum today but despite being very careful, the coolant pipe broke, probably been on since the car was new and had become incredibly brittle. Test drive will have to wait until next week now

Hi Rob, that's a great help, looks as though the 4 short hoses are up against the intake manifolds so I will place mine in the same position. New pipe on order so should be here in a few days.

Did you compare the new plenum seam with existing one? Comparison photo would be good.
