I believe that the EGR valves do some post shutdown work out. |

And the turbo actuators cycling, helps stop them from seizing up. |

Interesting. I know I have one EGR that's started to struggle a bit. Maybe thats the one making noise. They are blocked, but not yet mapped out.

Very common, mine does same, as do a lot of others. Might even be a standard feature

Well, then it's confirmed. It's the EGRs (one, or both) which makes this noise. The graph shows both Turbo actuators and EGRs. The EGR curve coincides with the noise frequency.
