OK so the M6 RIVNUTS are was advised to purchased are a size too big for the bolts supplied with my second-hand RAI Big Cry

Do I have the wrong bolts or are the correct RIVNUTS M4 or M6 or similar......?

You have to start somewhere. Grip Grille with hand behid back and pull upwards hard!

I used Clear Duck Tape to mark the holes accurately:

I i drilled small pilot holes then upped the anti to the 9mm bit and smoothed of with a round file before tapping the rivet nuts.

THe Rivet Nut Tool was easy to use and worked like a dream (bargain)

I used stick on draught excluder to create a dust proof cushion between car & RAI:

On cars as well so double layer effect (The barrier seems effective and will be splashproof as well)

Nearly finished - my new M6 bolts had bolt rather than screw ends (not ideal)

Get some of this its fab.

How deep are you going?
Are you going to have to look at the engine electronics as well?

Think I'm with nbunney.

I'm sure they're great in the dark, but for most of the time you're driving around with two moons stuck on the front when you don't need them.

Out of interest, does the A-Bar reduce the approach angle?
It looks a little low.

A side on picture showing that and how far the lights stick out to the front would be nice if you do requests... Laughing

Overall I think I prefered the look without the bar and front lights. Sorry, personal opinion and all that. Embarassed

All opinion welcomed warmly Thumbs Up

Yes it does reduce approach angle slightly but not much and they are set back on the bar so do not stick out too much. You just see the top of the two lights from inside

Gaz, I think your motor is brilliant, just the right mix of colour, moderfication all tastefully done, it looks like a factory specced vehicle and something ready for the special forces to use in Libya....that was until you fitted the chrome A frame and lights, sorry mate, just my opinion. I still admire your work Smile Current MY2020

AMD,

You may well be right.....

Still not sure myself but I wanted big driving lights and was a sort of mission I guess.

I am going to get A Bar powder-coated and may keep the black Covers on for general use so maintain the steath combat look!

Tweeking is what its all about Thumbs Up

PS: Lights under Bar is another option?
