reduced performance

Warning on dash today, reduced performance! Car temperature ok, weather hot, climate blasting out.

I stopped her, locked her, Unlocked her and set off again up the A1 following a truck (48.9mpg) and it was fine. Warning lit up again near home as I asked for some revs coming uphill.

Any ideas chaps, other than to get her looked over?

She's a 2011 Vogue with just under 60k.

Thanks in begrudging anticipation.......

Could be split hoses if it happens underload. I'm assuming it's a diesel?? Were there big clods of smoke coming out of the back when it happened?

3.6?

If so typical split hose symptoms. Thumbs Up dead easy to sort look at the wiki for how to repair a split hose and check for leaks. Thumbs Up

The plastic intake manifold can split on the 4.4 which can cause a similar result to a split hose on the 3.6. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

3.6 or 4.4 ?

As NMJ states - on a 3.6, this message is often down to a split intercooler hose.

If you accelerate hard & look in your mirror you should see black smoke which is usually the give away.

If its a 4.4 and still has the original secondary turbo inlet isolation valve then the valve could be sticking.

5 minute job to check them and you only need a screwdriver. Have a search on here loads about it. If they are fine atleast you can rule them out without paying someone to check these for you!

You're in Leeds, fancy a pint? Thumbs Up

Do you mean check the hose mate or the secondary inlet valve thingy?

Cheers

You're not wrong, I've just lifted the hood and she's still red hot and I've been home since 5:30.

It's very busy under there. My good lady took a look and said "everything looks ok". So that's that then!
