2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aintree Green

Rattly old diesel is a great way to ruin one (but I think I'd look at the Mercedes engines if I had to).

Craig Mobile Toilets, as they are 10 foot high and 8 foot wide the aerodynamics resemble a parashoot and then they tip the scales around 3 tons, and they eat TD6 gearboxes Big Cry

A TD5 will pull these loo's, just, BUT it is ECU controlled, and if I'm going to be faffing around doing all the bloody ECU stuff then I might as well dump in a TDV6 and have done with it. I really want to get away from having to plug it in and all the hassle that can come with that......... Lets face it the bloody computers argue with themselves in a car that left the factory.... what chance would I have if I were to try and integrate this in to a car that doesn't have any? For a kickoff the engine ECU talks to the Alarm ECU and the Gearbox ECU and the BCU.... If I ain't got them them I'm going to be in safe mode straight away

You'll know much more about this than I do, but I would worry that the Classic was a bit light compared to the trailer and that the 80 or so profile tyres would not help stability. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Whistle It can always be shod with bigger wheels and smaller tyres, failing that more air usually sorts out the wobbles Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I thought portaloo’s were light as feathers Miggit? Our local “Andyloo’s” runs around with an L200 a 24ft custom built flatbed with about 30 loo’s or so on it!

Cummins 6litre jobby.

To be honest I think there is a better route to go for towing the big units you tow but you might not like it... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

OK, I know this won't be popular here but if I was looking for a working vehicle, to tow, not cause me sleepless nights, not depreciate very much and to do inter galactic mileages before needing a spanner anywhere near it then it would be a Landcruiser Amazon for me, all day long....... 2006 4.2 SC

Shocked SKOT, Whistle been there seen it got the T shirt 3 times Shocked and they aren't all that they are cracked up to be, the transmission don't like the weight / drag, the brakes are crap Shocked Shocked and they do 15 to the gallon Shocked Shocked Shocked

They eat drive couplings, brake pads, steering racks and pumps (100 series) the 80 series wanders all over the shop, really struggles when towing up hill (bogs) and isn't much better than the 100, but I will say that they are better off road as they have 3 diff locks as opposed to the 2 that the 100 has Thumbs Up

Craig, you is talking a load of plastic Shocked they are 100 KG, I know the trailer that you are referring to and it holds 14 loo's so that's 1.4 ton of bogs + trailer..... so that is no more than 2.5 tons.... The things that I tow are proper porcelain pans, like at home, with real sinks, running hot water and real doors that you can lock.... nothing like those plastic building site chemi karzis. These are VIP / Corporate standard, that very often end up back stage Thumbs Up

Whistle With luxury there comes a weight penalty...... it's like comparing a ffrr to a Panda 4x4 Whistle Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Craig, this is the inside of a loo built by a good friend of mine....

That is only a 2 loo unit and it still tips the scales at 1.3 tons empty....... that pic of my car in front of 4 units, the green ones have 10 loo's and the grey ones have 7 and 4 places for little boys Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

But I have herd that the 8 speed box isn't as good as originally thought.... the very nice chaps that are going to sort mt GM cheese box out have just brought a couple of 8 speeds to rebuild and have on the shelve Shocked I don't know if that's Range Rover related or for another application with even more power Rolling Eyes Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Not sure where you have heard that from Miggit? I certainly do NOT concur with that statement... The 8sp box has been faultless in my experience, not heard one report of a failure yet...!
