Plan of action tomorrow is to buy myself an amp tester and check before starting.

If the battery is 12.4 volts or higher and fails to start then it's the starter motor.

If the battery read 11 volts or less then the battery drain is still the problem

I will update in due course

I hope to have found the battery drain .. the sat nav . remains continuously on. Have the cables disconnected from the radio module, amp. and sat. nav.-unit (the radio did not work so and has yet to be replaced by a aftermarket)

The Alternator is in good condition say's the garage today. So I watching tomorrow what's happens to Start, battery is full at the moment and I hope tomorrow also Wink (next option to do FSR) I use Google translate, Sorry for my bad English...

My sat-nav is already removed.

I'm now moving onto the FSR, after that the starter motor.

to be fair it started today at 6am at -2 and all day yesterday.

I need to wait for my battery volt checker to come from amazon then i can test the battery.

Good Luck

its funny because to replace the Sat Nav is over £100 when you could be a Tom Tom for less which is better and has live traffic reports.

Hi Seb.

New toy not up to the job of starting car from (properly) flat or not tried it:?:

Not read any previous posts about this, so may be way late to the party but are there any lights being left on such as glove box for example Question I say this as my uncle had a new car in the 80's with constant battery drain and it turned out to be the boot light not going off. I understand yours seems to be intermittent but just a thought Thumbs Up

Hope you sort it soon.

Andy

just a thought on random battery drain. I had this on mine ('03 L322 4.4V8). Changed the heater hedgehog resistor to fix a malfunctioning aircon (kept going to full fan whenever the sun shone through the windscreen), fixed both. No more random battery drain, and heater fan works as it should.

777.......

The pack has been used 3 times so far on the fatty. Battery not fully dead but not enough to start engine.

Connected up and off she went!

It also got a run out on my Samsung S5 and Ipad.

Austria 2013 Range Rover Autobiography TDV6 Barolo Black

Although trying to get down to battery drain I never succeeded in finding it (pulled all the fuses, renewed FSR, installed new alternator). Finally did the second battery fit out last year and in December I put in a VSR (Voltage sensitive relay) between the batteries. This VSR is an intelligent one: 1) ignition off = isolated batteries, 2) charging above 13.6V = batteries connected, 3) below 12.8V = isolated batteries, 3) when car is started and starter battery voltage drops below 11.6V the second battery will also kick in, and 4) my own invented extra: when remote action of FBH = second battery kicks in for as long the FBH is active.
And now for the results: been on skiing holiday last week in Italy. Every morning before skiing and every evening after skiing the FBH was used for ½ hour. When starting in the morning many days of -11, -13 and even -15. Started every time powerful, and never had a HDC warning Mr. Green No more worries for me with the battery.
I'm really happy I did install the second battery with VSR. Thanks to the inspiration I found on this forum! Bow down Thumbs Up
