tv in my 2003

this seems to be the only thing that doesnt work, it cant tune but has the stations there, is it something to do with digital now rather than a fault? if so, what can i do to make this operational please?

Your best option is to fit a hybrid unit from a later BMW. I got one from a 2005 x5. Straight swap.

Or do this

Which is the innards changed on the analogue unit.

Failing those two, personally, I wouldn't bother.

The above 2 options utilise all the factory fit buttons etc.....

No, the TV tuner in the left hand side of the boot compartment........on the rr. It's under the boot floor on an x5.

Do the early touch screen sat nav's have Digital TV?

If not can they be upgraded with a TV module from a later touchscreen car?

Mine doesn't. You can upgrade with a hybrid/digital tuner. Sorry I don't know when they changed to digital as standard.

As Stan say, not really worth the cost. John

Early tochscreen can be done, 5 minute job if you can find the correct tuner. You would need to make sure that you get the correct Jag/LR one as some don't work. From memory two wires unplugged from existing unit then plugged into new unit, new unit sits next too the old one to save stripping out loads of brackets etc... and also easy to remove if selling later. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Will have to study the parts catalogues a bit then i think.

Whether it's worth it though, just depends on how cheaply you find the digital tuner.

But a 50" TV won't fit on the dash and streaming on the iPad uses too much data to be cost effective.

Not an essential but it was there, I saw the module and can always get something back if I sell when the FF goes. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

mine has TV in it an to be honest for the most part it doesn't work, it does have a digital tuner but the signal for the most part isn't strong enough round here.

If you have after market tints it can affect the reception too....

What with all the online catchup services etc if I want to watch telly in the car i will do it on my phone as I have a 20Gb package with EE. (when parked of course Whistle ) There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
