i noticed you had at least one bolt missing on the filter to valve body. (from the picture)....
also its possible the filter came with o ring on already and you have a 'spare'

getting ready to give you a big round of applause, for your project etc. Thumbs Up

so for applause wait tomorrow that will be my birth date 31 July and hope to try engine and transmission togheter Mr. Green

is tis correct or something missing

The O-ring is missing from the groove nearest the snap ring (i.e. towards the front)

this seal is correct or not

You've inserted it deeper than 'normal' but I think it will still be okay. At least it's unlikely to be contacting a previously worn part of the park lock gear shaft

i dont' know location for parts below, two screws I think valve body but I can't find location
the oring inside bag n.3 jpat

The two screws look like two of the 5-off M6 x 30 screws (27.410) that bolt the duct plate directly to the casing (rather than through the valve blocks)

The O-ring is either the oil filter O-ring (27.460) or the park lock gear O-ring (14.110, which you have missing in a previous photo) - they are the same size

The two small lip seals are for the long gear selector shaft that passes right through the transmission

Phil

is normal that no endfloat on fron side?

You should measure between 0.20 and 0.40mm endfloat at the front and between 0.25 and 0.45mm at the rear

right as always, part n 0734 313 181 that I ordered but that I can't find, so maybe lost and I have to re-order Big Cry

for screws, yes are M6X30 and I checked this morning Idea , and is just an idiot error, because are the two screws on front plate near input speed sensor that missed
yes , is the filter o-ring that believe included with OEM filter so I have another as spare.
the only problem , is that I haven't the output o-ring, I will search, but I think not here
the rear shaft can rotate only in one direction by hand, and is opposite to the arrow drawn on the output shaft seal, is right or something wrong
I believe have a total of 22 old o-ring replaced it is correct
on the 1058 298 022 overhaul.kit, what parts are in surplus and will not fit 032 transmission
the park lock gear O-ring must be un the A or B place

I'm sure for 90% that the o-ring is follow, but not copletely sure

you are certainly doing a big overhaul, in that you are doing what seems a full rebuild on the gearbox, and doing the vanos seals at same time. -makes sense while waiting for the parts etc. i did my vanos seals a couple of years back along with the timing chain and tensioner, and guide rails you have an envious working position, in that you have the front off the car. and its warm. i had to do mine outside, over a few days during an everlasting winter with temperatures barely above freezing. (i bought car as not drivable you see)
hats off and a bow to you so far, and thorough job etc.
If you had your upper timing covers off and you obviously changed those gaskets, then seal the corners with some black RTF silicone, as it has to move slightly as you compress the rocker covers to set their position, and as we know, oil can leak from the tiniest places.

i take it you founf the excellent write up showing the vanos seals ie (google) 'e39 vanos proccedure' from i think Beisian systems......

good job my friend.

RRphil is your lifebouy in a sea of odd looking parts..... ( in UK, lifebouy=lifesaving float/ring thrown from boat etc)

we are just spectators clapping from the shoreline...

thanks Jhon for your support, Of sure Phil is a big lifebouy....for who like me and you on the web, have to do with these trans.
To be honest I was planning this work for more than a year ago, when I contacted Phil the first time with reverse problem, but I never had time because I want a good job and the only one which I would give the job is Phil
so I waited summer, thinking it was better, but I did not imagine an abnormal summer like this, as hell, because these days with over 40 degrees Celsius are very hard
I can certainly imagine that your condition is not pleasant to work outside in the winter, but I hate the hot weather, and I work in Libya (this is why I have time to do the work now)
last July also contacted, Rajaie from Beisan system, he is really very helpful and always answer any question by email.
After my experience With Land Rover dealer,(engine replaced) I have not trust from these kind of worker, and prefer to do myself.
I think this transmission is relatively easy to undertand, bat is very difficult only the first time, then everything changes.
Before starting, for over a year, I read all ZF 5hp24 thread on the web , most are helped by Phil, and then I finally decided.
I must say that the biggest challenge for me is remove tranny , without hydraulic lift
anyway thanks so much, as I said yesterday, the covers were made, by RDA verniciatura

and today are assembled

I went to BMW for new dowel and converter bolts

Then I attached the T CASE

and tomorrow morning , sorry this morning ...I willl assemble, than complete the front end,. but I can't test before next Monday, because I must wait courier for T case oil , diff oils and PSA oil odered one week ago.
I also have to fit the new thermostat mod with 80c because I'm very tired to buy radiators.
and If everything is ok, hope to sell my FFRR .
apologies to all for the bad English, and sometimes I go quickly

good luck on the install. as previous, remember to keep the TC in situ till you are ready to mate the gearbox to engine. (ie its parrallel, and recheck TC is still in the correct position. bolt it by hand and wiggle a little, minding the two locating ferrules on the engine dont get squashed. (easily done)

you had better start to fill up your fridge with some celebratory drink.

shame you are selling it after such a complete job....

did you say you had a new engine, or did you mean you were told to get a new engine, and you overhauled it yourself.....(vanos etc. )

its amazing what info you find when you read on the 'net, into the night hours etc.

HI there, yesterday I had transmission fitted

so today the first start seems to be ok, but I can't test on the road because a capacitor on the coils is blow and engine run not so good.
Anyone know why this capacitor was blow, and what his work, I can't also find as spare
anyway about trans forward and reverse seems to be ok. I need another liter of LT71141 due lost on filling operation foer a complete test.
Can I Blend BMW ATF2 part number 83222305396 with mobil LT71141 Question

the capacitor on to the red circle, , that needed for the spark plugs bank 1....may be anyone can hel me ...because I think is not supllied like a pats but I need the complete wiring loom

I already have another engine like this, where I could take but I will always need

update, after a research I realize to have a capacitor for each bank of coils for radio noise suppression. So the engine work property now.
on the other side, believe to have something wrong with transmission, reverse work right, but D after few meters in 1st seems to engage reverse itself, or engage parking, other times It seems to slip then come in with a shot.
stationary, in manual mode all gears can be engaged on the dash.
Phil, think you is problem with valve block,
I must to say that 1 or 2 liters of oil missing
I got error P0720 (059) STALLING SPEED and 153

You definitely engaged the peg on the rooster comb in the slot in the manual valve?
