Anyone know just how large a bulb you can get away with,i know it is listed as 6w but others have put much larger ones in ok but if it connected to the trailer reversing cables surely it has to cope with what a trailer bulbs use.Just thinking of some extra reversing light possibly mounted in an inconspicuous place as just below the bumper . |

All the trailer lights are fed through a relay so there is no drain on the wiring of the car........ but that's not to stop you using a relay to power your extra lights |

As well as my brighter original reverse lights I also have a pair of supplementary led spot lamps mounted below the rear trim below the rear bumper. I have these wired through a pair of relays such that when I select reverse in daylight only the original reverse lights light up, when I have sidelights on the supplementary spot lamps also light in addition to the original.

Just upgraded my reverse lamps with the G4 ones, picture below is a before & after, bulb on the right is the Hungarian 21w lens melter, (I added an extra rubber ring to prevent melting) on left is the G4 bulb, ordered bit from bay of E, literally is a ten minute job (as long as you can solder) snipped of the old bulb carrier and soldered on the new socket, bit of heat shrink over joint, all done, really good instructions earlier on in this thread, look better in real life than the pic, really bright & white, worthwhile mod.

The biggest problem with those is there will only be enough room to fit 1 bulb per light..... and there is a restriction in the lens that will make it impossible to fit a large bulb, it wont go through the hole |
